I stopped off at the dealer this morning and took a quick picture of my car before the PDI process. SA said they check all the fluid levels and "turn the car on". Apparently for shipment the car is programmed to not exceed 20 mph. Interesting and makes sense. Wouldn't want anyone driving it off the boat .

SWEEET! ^^ Same wheels that I ordered - and boy do they look AMAZING!
Tell me - You're from South Texas - was your car brought to the Rhode Island port? If so - how long did it take from ship docking to being at your dealer?

I think Porsche uses ships that stop in Houston, so I would think a Texas bound car would sail on a ship to Houston. I remember tracking my car and the ship stopped in Jacksonville first and then carried on to Houston...

For 991.1 cars and earlier, the roof wart, (just above rear air grill) would only appear on cars that ordered satellite radio, but not on other 991.1s or 981.1s. Personally i don't like the look of the wart, which affects the lines of the car.
There aren't many options in now electronics/audio when ordering a 911 these days other than choosing Bose/Burmister. Are all the other electronic options now just included whether or want them or not now with the 991.2 like voice control, and sat radio, so the roof wart is unavoidable?

Mine came to the Houston port. I believe it left the port in Emden on 9/19 and arrived in Houston on 10/7. Dealer received it on 10/12. Its off to my detailer this afternoon for PPF, and I plan to take delivery on Saturday, 10/22.

I'm asking because my car left Emden on 10/12 and will arrive in RI on 10/22 in the morning.
Dealership in PA told me they should get it 11/11 (DEALER INVOICE).
Not sure why it would take this long to clear customs, make the 1 day trip to PA, and go through the prep process.

No, its mainly scheduling issues. I'm selling my 997.2 daily driver to a friend so I have to work around both of our schedules. Dealer is handling the sale of my current car as a trade-in so I save some sales tax, which in Texas is 6.25% on a new car purchase. My SA said to allow at least 3 h for the paperwork on sale of my car and the delivery process for my new car.
After going through the Porsche Delivery app, we could probably spend 3 h on the PCM alone. I want to allow plenty of time to learn about the new car, so a Saturday seemed to work best.
I'm also having my detailer apply PPF to most of the car and he wants 3-4 days for his work. I've been planning this purchase for over 6 months so I'm not in a huge rush.

I heard from a few different people that their cars cleared customs almost immediately. It waived bye bye to the ship within 24 hours.
Its 6 hour drive on a truck from Rhode Island to PA. Granted other cars are on there transport of course.
But 10/22 - 10/23 release - 10/24 arrive at dealer 10/25 pickup (or 10/27)?
Realistic no?
