Decided to try a short trip and drive "normally" in standard mode and with auto stop/start button on.

Turns out my C2S can be super economical if you drive sensibly.
Had the speed cruise set at 125 km/h.

Managed 6.5l/100km or 36.18 mpg at an average speed of 120 km/h

Who cares? I'm in it for the adrenaline rush. I try never to drive sensibly or conservatively unless traffic necessitates it. Congratulations to you though.

Well the EU and the rest of the world seems to worry about mpg and hence the need to create new fuel efficient turbo engines and take away the joy of a NA orchestra

I've gotten well into the low 30's on road trips before. I think that's great! Yeah I know everyone drives like they stole it on 6 hour interstate drives blah blah blah whatever lol

I think the good fuel economy of the 991 is a great thing. Despite the internet bravado, unless it's just a track toy it's nice to get good fuel economy and range from a very high performance sports car when you want to.

29.3 mpg on 1st drive w/991(approx. 60 mile drive home from dealer after purchase). Don't think I'll ever approach that mpg again. Typically get between 16-21mpg w/sport mode engaged. Got 25mpg one time driving Hermosa Beach to Santa Barbara w/no traffic at nite.

Rode STP, consumed 12 bananas, 8 Snickers, three sandwiches, two pizza's and two gallons of water. Not counting the other stuff, that's 100 miles per gallon.

If I wanted fuel economy, I would have bought a Prius. I don't even know the cost of a gallon of gas. I just don't care.

991TT:
Daily commute - anywhere between 16 and 20mpg depending on traffic (50/50 fwy/city). Not babying it.
Best: 180mi road trip, 28.1 mpg.

Very impressed - does better than rated.

Positive. My Hummer's plate is 5.5MPG. Besides, Jeremy was fired by BBC for being a pompous arrogant etc.

I'm getting 17-19 in my Carrera S. Obviously, droning on the freeway in 7th in a straight line it does high 20's, but in mixed driving I'm sub 20mpg. My Cayman S is about the same.

I think you missed that it was a joke. I suspect you didn't watch it for long enough.
