Saw them at a Cars and Coffee on a black C4S from NJ. Looks stock....just better (Think of it as a 10mm spacer) The gentleman raved about the smoother and quieter ride.
We didn't have our car so I couldn't do a side-by-side.

My buddy Chuck told me that you don't need to actually own a 991 to participate in the forum.

I like the Z4. But it's not a Porsche.

Me personally, I wouldn't take a Z4 at a 50% discount.
Well, I got a decent deal on it and a decent trade on the 911. Not a 50% discount, but it was OK. I've owned plenty of BMWs, and I have a real love/hate thing going on with them. The boss loves it (she was never really fond of the 911) so that's points in my favor. The Z4 has a lot less power, doesn't handle nearly as well and as mentioned by someone, the hood is awfully long and maybe it's not the best looking car out there. That's OK, it's still fun to drive and I'm back in a convertible, which is nice.

I really thought I'd miss the 911 and regret this move, but I don't. I really wanted to like that car, it just never happened.

Bite your tongue! Mine has a proper transmission and all three pedals.

i am not used to it yet, it is surely different, but i can't say it is that bad....
Worst (compared to earlier 911s) in that the shift pattern is a bit strange, and sometimes I had problems selecting a gear, and the clutch is a bit odd. Nothing really bad enough to complain about, but then I got a Boxster S loaner for a week, and I realized just how good the old 6-speed box really was. That, unfortunately, was the beginning of the end for me and the 991.

But I don't really care for the Boxster, so it never became a consideration. Maybe down the road when the 981s get some age on them, I'll pick up a used one. Those suckers really depreciate badly.

So, if I had to recap my experience with my 991 C2S after a year like the OP did, I would say:
- fit and finish on the car was excellent
- performance just got better as the car got more miles on it
- I did experience the surging issue that some have reported, but it seemed to have gotten better over time
- I wish there was an option to get all-season tires from the factory, because I am not a fan of those Pirelli summer tires
- I would have preferred the old 6-speed transmission
- I missed the more direct, hydraulic steering of the older cars
- the 14-way seats fit me just fine and worked well for me
- no electrical gremlins and only one brief PCM issue (reboot fixed)
- I received lots of compliments on the car (Amaranth Red)
- I choose my interior colors poorly (Agate Grey/Pebble Grey dual leather)
- I wish the exhaust sounded better without having to buy PSE

I had other issues that had to do with me, not the car, that I won't list here, that motivated me to sell it.
