Default 29.8 mpg on my morning commute - school run

Not a lot of fun, but still keeping up with traffic. I drove like there was a raw egg under my gas pedal and religiously (yes) followed the up shift indicator.

The auto-start was on and temperature was 85f with the aircon turned on

There was no way to enjoy performance in traffic with stop lights, so I looked at the MPG number today. Impressive for an around-town-run with stops and stop lights.

Not a performance number, but an impressive number nonetheless.

Impressive "performance." And no, it doesn't sound like much fun.

It's my DD, so not all runs are fun. But the 911 is so versatile, it makes for a great school bus!

430 HP
Top down
76 MPH
7th gear
About 2,400 rpm
Over 28 mpg!!

How many cars can do this? Pretty amazing & cool, to me.

Will be taking advantage of this efficiency this coming week as I plan to do over 1,000 miles for Parade and a detour to Nashville.

LexVan, very impressive. I must admit that I am closer to 19mpg when not paying attention on my work commute - school run in the morning.

Funny, Chris Harris said, effectively, the same thing in a tweet this morning after dropping three of his kids off at school in the GTS he's "testing."

I'm more impressed when I see 6 mpg on the track. Means I'm driving it as designed, not a school bus.

my daughter is of the careful kind ... that means from the moment she hears the engine rev, she tells me: 'slow daddy, slow'

I doubt I will ever take it to the track but if I do, I will not be watching the mpg's.

Just finished a spirited run to Las Vegas with a lot of open desert driving, still was able to get over 28 mpg, even with wife telling me to slow down..

over 48000 or so miles mine averages 24.8 mpg. On highway trips it has burned as little as 36 mpg, autocross....9 mpg.

When i told the porsche tech that it averaged 33 or so on the way to their shop, he commented that I was driving it all wrong...
