I wonder if a very light tint or something like the Xpel coating on the interior windshield glass could mitigate the problem...
I know it might sound extreme, but have you thought of a black dash cover? Don't know if they still make one, but I had one on my 78 SC (to keep the dash from cracking). Fit well and didn't look bad at all. That might cut down on the beige glare some.

OP, why did you get rid of the 997 C2S?

windshield reflections and tires do suck.

i've got a pretty achey back and my 18ways are taking a bit of time to get set up so they don't tire me out after 45 minutes. not using as a DD also compounds the problem. i find that if i slow my roll a bit and recline a bit more, it helps. with a 7MT, it does affect shifting because i'm not on top of everything. however, i find my car so perfect that i absolutely do not care. if you want or expect a car to fit you as an individual perfectly, make your own

It's a German car, and these are German seats, even though they're made in the USA as I understand it. The Germans want you to sit up straight. If you slouch, the seats will punish you for it.

Some people shopping for a 991 C2 will appreciate them.
I test drove the 911 quite a bit, cayman as well, and ended up with the 991S. It's got a pair. But after a year, I never bonded with the car, just didn't care for it, and at $110K thought that there should be more. So I sold it.

I did not experience issues with the trim reflecting and I had a dark dual-tone interior, so there was no dash reflection issue.

I'm not going to read 6 pages on this thread to see all the flaming, but I think the OP is sincerely just trying to help potential buyers.

I've owned a 964, 993, 996 cab, 997 and 991S. Also a Panny S in there. All but the Panamera were manuals, and although the shifter on the 991 is much tighter and has a shorter throw, it is by far the worst.

I do have a question for the OP though: "worst $24K ever spent", really? You had only a $1000/month payment? That's incredible. Was there no cap cost, or other fees?

He had a base model 991. Price is about right.

Different tastes for different folks, hence the 1,000's of car options out there.

How are you liking the BMW Z4?? Miss us on the 991 board?? You know things are more exciting over here!

Me personally, I wouldn't take a Z4 at a 50% discount. That's just me. Different taste I guess, but people can spend their money as they like.

I don't think the Z4 is an ugly car, but I find the driving position and long hood less than desirable. And all the performance reviews I read were pretty negative, particularly compared with the Cayman/Boxster.

Bridgestones S001's will give you a much better ride with similar performance.

Pilot super sports the same as above but you can kick up the tire size on both front and rear. (Just the rear looks awesome @ 325/25-20).

Reflections on the windscreen... Surely that requires sunshine.... I've inadvertently avoided that issue

I attribute all my previous problems with the 7MT on my GTS TO ME. I have owned the car for 700 miles and the 7MT and I are becoming buddies. It is sort of like graduating from high school and going to college. The upgraded requirements imposed upon you are challenging but the end result in the knowledge you accumulate is worth it.

My polarized sunglasses obliterate the windshield reflection.
