Default A few 991S's on my short list

http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...9223/overview/ (I love the color).

http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...9486/overview/

http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...8014/overview/

And lastly, one local to me but priced a bit high vs the others.

I realize an Infiniti (or Volvo or anything else) dealer isn't quite as nice as dealing with a Porsche dealer but hopefully with a proper PPI the risk is lower. I have made progress through the thread. It does seem the price has dropped vs earlier in the year.

- Was wondering why that first one was so cheap, lot's of good options. Looks like an accident on carfax.

- Second one is mislabeled as an S and it's not an S.

- No Sport Chrono on #3, not sure if that matters to you. Also had an accident.

How does one go about evaluating if an accident is a show stopper ? Granted, all things equal, you'd get one without but at some price, maybe minor damage is worth saving $10k (if indeed it's $10k or thereabouts).

That nearby one is more and more appealing but I do love the dark blue metalic.

Pull the bumpers and look for deformations, used up buffers etc.

Think about your own resale value and reselling speed.

This 991s has < 5k miles. No accidents but has two owners and was sold at auction. Trouble ? Most of these I see have recalls outstanding. Can't imagine that's something to worry about.

This one is clean, 1 owner and 10k mi. Not sure about the blue interior. I'd want to see that in person.

I get a lot of questions on car financing if NOT going through a dealer. Saying buying by owner.

You still have many options, even if buying from a dealer if you can get a better rate do it. You don't have to use them

The local mainstream banks are usually high. I suggest your local credit unions. Usually more competitive. Like an Educators credit union for example. They just want to hear your great grandma was once a teacher to open an account.

Look online too. Many options. These guys are real competitive.

Ok, there's those that choose to finance for a variety of reasons. That's fine. Rates are LOW.

Just giving some insight into the option!

Thanks! Not really "the man", but a measly unpaid intern

The high quality cars combined with a hot price have been slim pickings the last couple weeks. I'm still looking, but coming up empty. Will find something to post this weekend! Search going into overdrive.

For anyone else interested, I recently applied to a hand full of banks/credit unions and Bank of America was the one that gave me the best rate.

If you, or a family member, have a military service background you can can get great rates for both loans and insurance with USAA-- www.usaa.com

I had 2.49% with a check in hand from Penfed and my dealer got 2% on 90k for me through US Bank back in August.
