^^^^ nice hearing feedback! Thanks. I know, quite the journey sometimes. Most of the time!
Way off topic, but a bit of a slow day in the HFS thread...
I got tired of not having anything fun to drive while searching for the right 991, as I sold my 987 Cayman S several months ago in anticipation of a bit of a quicker journey. I picked this up on a total whim at the local Mecum auction. COMPLETELY different than the Porsche's I'm used to but I have been having a blast with it for the past month or so.
I don't think it's a long-term keeper, but it takes a bit of the pressure off of finding the right 991.
I am ...
looking for a manual C4s 2013-2014. Not a loud exterior color although that blue one was nice SGT posted a couple days ago) PSE, Sport Chrono, full leather sunroof pref glass but not a deal breaker. Pref Certified and within striking distance to set my eyes on. Well priced, and clean history.
I'm still looking... Looked at and drove a 2013 C2 manual today. Previously all I had test driven (in 991s) have been PDK and S's. I really enjoyed being back in a manual and the combo of the non-S and manual drove sportier than I thought it would. First auto-blipper car I've driven, thought it was pretty cool! Concerned I'll miss that extra 50 HP though and the used price difference between base and S isn't that large, though it seems easier to find a manual in a base.
I went from a PDK Carrera S (13') to a 13 Carrera C2 manual with tons of options and love it.

Feels pure...
Great feedback..
pfbz ... Whoa. Muscle car beast. Straight line killer. Glad you have a distraction! Will you break even hopefully after keeping a while?
I hope to at least recover the base cost, though it's hard to recover the 7% sales tax and registration costs.. Of course when you compare it to the enormous depreciation new 991 buyers experience in the first few years, the cost for sampling is pretty minimal.
This thread has been invaluable. I've been keeping an eye on it over the last 6 months or so and am finally in the market. I recently drove both a 911 and a Cayman, and as much as I was hoping to love the Cayman, it was just too small for me.
I'm currently on the lookout for a 2013-2014 'S' model. I am open to both Cab/Coupe as well as C2S/C4S. Would definitely prefer a Cab, but I know its a little bit tougher to find one with the right options in my price range.
My ideal car would look something like this:
CPO
PDK
Gray/Silver/White Exterior preferred
Black/Red Interior preferred
SC
PSE
Sports Design Steering Wheel
Bose
Full Leather
Ventilated Seats
Park Assist (Front + Rear)
Glass sunroof (if coupe)
Lower mileage
Really hoping to stay as close to the 80K mark as possible. I know that's going to be tough, but that's why we have this thread
Did anyone ever see this one in person? Had posted it a while back. Lower MSRP and higher miles, but a GREAT price point for a 991 C2S. Is still very nicely optioned.
What's with all of these non-porsche dealers picking up Porsche's at auction and then letting them sit on their lots for months?
They are usually priced well, but are at Best detailed before sale. No maintenance done or confirmed. I've checked a couple out and they typically have low tread, low brakes, and zero maintenance records from previous owner because of auction purchase.
I'm not, but I still can't get that Lava Orange GTS out of my head. Im retired and would have to pillage my Roth IRA for another $20k or so with my loaded 2015 GR/Blk C2S trade. It has 3500 miles on it and 5 years CPO remaining. I love mY C2S, but ohhh that Lava Orange GTS with Aerokit and 430Hp!! It is only 45 minutes drive from here, so it keeps tempting me. My wife would kill me!
BTW, he has raised it up to $125k now. Ridiculous.

Beautiful one!
Yeah, that's car should have been snagged up from that previous dealer. What was it at then again?? $115K?

I think dawgcatching had a PPI done on that car. IIRC it needed some significant work i(about $5K?) ncluding brakes and rotors, and showed some significant history of track days. Carfax history is even a bit more funky now, shows as sold and then back at the same dealership... A buy-back? If so, it would have to have been some extraordinary circumstances. I think it was at the same price last time as well.
Maybe it's just me STG but I would only buy a CPO p-car from a Porsche dealer .... that's my idea of a "hot for sale deal" because you get piece of mind with your purchase.
