Along the lines of this pic... I saw this Boxster at the stoplight yesterday. They did a much better job of centering the name, but still... not a good look.
My seven year old spotted it from the backseat and asked, "Why would they do that daddy?" I was asking myself the same thing.
There always seems to be a reason why a newish Porsche ends up at a non-Porsche dealer.
I was all hot over a 2013 C4 a couple weeks ago. It had everything I wanted: PDK, PASM, Sport Chrono, PSE, PTV, Premium Package Plus.
Using the VIN I was able to find the old ad when it was sold as a used car by a Porsche dealer. The description mentioned it had a clear bra. I innocently asked the current non-Porsche dealer if it had a clear bra and was to told - Yes, on the hood and around the headlights. What happened to the film on the bumper cover? The salesman told me it was common to only have the metal bits covered. LOL! So I called back and spoke to the owner of the dealership who actually turned out to be a decent person. He went and looked the car over and put a paint meter on it. Turns out the bumper and roof had been repainted. Whoops! So much for a perfect Carfax.
Just finishing up my purchase of a different car that was posted here. Pictures coming soon!
Looks like an awesome deal on a great car, Press Vehicle or not. It's CPO, so protected for a good, long time.
Press Vehicle!!! I assume you guys watch YouTube videos and see the abuse delivered day-after-day to these press cars. Anyone see the 991 TT doing 50 straight launch control starts to "celebrate" 50 years! Then there is the "off camera" stuff! Personally I would steer clear. If you see something and it makes you question it....move on!
I have a 2015 GTS with 800 miles, CPO'd until April 2021 and got 30K off sticker. I'm taking great pride following the breaking in procedure.
