Right, shame on me for giving them the benefit of the doubt but there are tests for respray and body work they should be able to do and document.

Does the CPO label give you any special protection beyond the extra 2 yrs and tire/brake wear ? I had assumed they did some sort of buyer protection inspection into the body/paint and elsewhere.

No other protection except warranty. The dealer can lie through their teeth.

ben2ee,

My guess is that there probably is not an accident in the history. Believe it or not, a Porsche can get CPO'd as long as there are no more than 2 panels repainted and no structural damage. CarFax would probably have picked up any accident. Not saying that you shouldn't get a PPI.

My guess, they have it priced to sell and don't want to dump any money into it.

Bizarre. First time I've seen a mistake on the MSRP document

Thanks ! Sounds like there are a couple ships Rennlister's had mentioned in previous forums.
FD Motorsports in Brentwood (1/2 hour away)
Kahler’s Werkstatt in Dublin (15 min)

Sounds like it would be $300 well spent. They include the paint thickness in their tests.

Saw this one too while I was looking.

Does this mean it's "big time"???

Oh, more pressure now!!
Congrats! Very deserved - great information here. Love the latest GT Silver one.

They have this demo reduced to $135k from $151k. Personally, I don't like new country tactics, but it's a nice looking GTS can with a ducktail.

1H - Platinum Silver Metallic
250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
427 - 20-inch Carrera Classic wheel
651 - Electric sunroof
672 - Navigation Module
AG - Black standard interior
P06 - Power Sport Seats (14-way)
P37 - BOSE® Audio Package
P38 - Premium Package

Dealer says it's not CPO. His excuse was they end up replacing tires/brakes with wear left on them. This one would need new rear tires (they're at 50%) but the rest are within CPO specs. This one's at a Porsche dealer. Should I still get a PPI on it ? Is there some other reason they'd refused to CPO it ? He said they don't do this to any of their cars due to the cost. Might there be other gremlins lurking that would cause them to not CPO ? Otherwise I'm tempted, just not sure how to move forward. I could just tell them to add the two tires to the car price and CPO it. Can the dealer be trusted to fess up to body/paint work ?
ben2ee - I live very close to the Livermore Porsche dealership. Will be happy to go there in person to check it out for you. Also, FWIW, when I was shopping (recently) for my C2, I had noticed that this dealership had the majority of their used 991's not CPO'd.

2013 C2S Platinum Silver coupe. 15K miles with a CPO.

This car is perfectly optioned without the fluff. Not a steal, but a fair deal. Maybe some room to negotiate.

As a "public mod" announcement, the front spoiler lip on the standard bumper is an easy swap. The sport lip comes standard on the Sport-PASM cars, but can be swapped out easily.

Or inquire with your local dealer for pricing.

I think Suncoast Porsche sells them for 175.00. Makes a huge difference.
