911 going all turbo?

Let them do whatever. It's just irritating to me.
Wait until the whining starts with the big sticker price bump with the new Turbos. The Turbo fans will be singing a new tune. Quote me then. Going on record here.
There will be NA options in the GT3 and GT4, model offerings for quite a while in the future from what I've gathered. There will be a niche demand for NA cars.
Plus used NA street 991's

Just imagine all the first-world problems we'll be hearing from the Turbo fans...
I'm going to do whatever it takes to get a 997 or 991 C2 PDK, or Cayman or Cayman S 981 no matter what it takes within the next two years. If there's any solace in this, it has forced and inspired me to work even harder and faster than I ever have before to get what I want.
This will be an interesting year for us all to say the least.

I know this; I was planning to reward myself by trading my current older Turbo on a 2016 991 in the fall, after a big project for my company is completed. I would still prefer to wait till then, keeping that carrot out there on a stick. But I'm ordering Saturday instead; I'd HATE to find out that I had missed the last of the new 993s waiting to see what the 996 looks like.
I figure if the new turbos (are they 991.2 or 992? I don't think that's been put to bed yet) are all that, then getting one a couple years in the future will be simple enough; and if they're not, it may be a good long while before I like them.
And I do think they'll be the fastest and quickest Carreras ever -- just like 996 was in 1998. But I KNOW that I like the current car's power delivery and its power, even though I'll be taking a 150+ torque hit moving to a 991 from a Turbo. But I don't KNOW that I'll like the power delivery of the next gen Carreras, and by the time I do know, it will be too late to order a 991S or GTS.
But it's all good -- even if the first blush with low-pressure turbos isn't something we all love, I bet by the refresh they'll get it right.

I don't see this translating into an overly massive jump in performance over the GTS either but again we'll see... more low end torque across the power band, likely a minor improvement in 0-60/quarter mile, and a decrease in sound quality/throttle response.

I think that they won't sound as great as N/A 911s, but if we think of them compared to recent turbo sports cars and supercars, they'll no doubt sound pretty good, maybe even better than them, knowing how **** Porsche was with getting the sound perfect in the 991. They'll sound very good for being turbocharged.
I've got a video of the turbo-4 Cayman on the previous page or two I think.

I don't think there's an actual sport exhaust option. But the aftermarket is a great option it seems. I like Fabspeed personally:
You can't tell me with a straight face that doesn't sound good, maybe not as good compared to N/A, but for a turbo car.

while sitting at local dealer, the sales person verified with someone at Porsche as to the timeline for the engine change. Answer was that the current NA generation would remain thru 2016 model yr, so someone should be able to order until probably April 2016.
At least for the GTS which was the focus of our discussion: can't recall if that answer was for GTS only or the entire line-up.
