Polar ( think icy blue North Pole ) was the std silver for several yrs , 10-15 yrs ago, so many were made - buyers complained it was too bluish , but more so than current Rhodium

so it was followed by the std silver, Arctic ( think warm bronzy Arctic tundra in land of midnight sun ) , which persisted for many yrs

seen a few polar 993s including TTs ... my C2S was artic which as you point out was more 'brown' that the 'blue' of polar...

cant really go wrong with silver, probably the one color that does not date a car over time

What is so special about the 993 apart from being last air-cooled?

OK, so I've now opened up to the idea that Arena, although beautiful, is "just another shade of red". What would you guys think about my second and third choices, Brewster Green and Aetna Blue? I was thinking about one of these combos:

1. Brewster Green with a Black top, and Cognac/Espresso interior.
2. Brewster Green with a Black top, and Black interior.
3. Aetna Blue with a Black top, and Black interior.

I would either go with the interior trim in CF or the external color (if possible).
Brewster is a wonderful Porsche nut " insider's " color - as seen on the special 2012 991 " 60 Club Coupe" ...but to eveyone else , it is "dark non -metallic green "

as some of us here are saying , if you are gonna invest the money and TIME ( and like the color green ) get something that every man, woman and child sees as " kustom "...like this configuration ( which Brett at Sonnen has ordered two of ) :

arguably perhaps also the most attractive body style ... certainly of the air-cooled cars ... and perhaps even of all time, depending upon your opinion of the 997 or 991

many will argue that the 993's basket handle third brake light ruined the classic silhouette ...now look at some of the younger OCD members here bothered by the 2 inch square sat radio antenna on the 997 and 991's back, lol!

I never hear anything about its ability as a car.

that was enough though and up there with the short and long goose neck ones on the late 80s cabs on the Porsche lazy engineering "hall of shame " !

the looks of the base 993 never resonated with me..always had a problem with the overly smoothed out 959 inspired sniffly front clip that didn't flow well with the more blocky looking rear

the 993 Turbo model with its iconic " melted " rear wing and winged NA wide body versions are great looking , though, since their aggressive air dammed fronts balance the rear perfectly and are still very modern looking

I think the 1976 930 and the last 993 Turbo will be the most highly sought after " regular production " Turbos in the future

I know the brown isn't for everyone. The top blends so well with the interior that if you keep that inside I would encourage the brown top and compliment or contrast with the body color.

Just food fro thought.

Default PTS 'British Racing Green'

Be careful with PTS 'British Racing Green'. It's not as light & lively in real life as the representation captured in daylight by the camera lenses in MKW's attached photo above! Notice how dark & somber it looks in Sonnen's own website photos when that car was for sale at their Marin County showroom!

To clarify, we are now talking 'British Racing Green', not 'Brewster Green'.
