Nick.. Good to catch up with your videos and final resolution. I am happy the way it all worked out. Kudos to you in the way you handled yourself.

On a lighter note.. If you do decide to get another 991 or another Porsche, insist on Maria Sharapova being your delivery specialist and customer service rep.

OTOH, If I was PCNA, I would have assigned Maria Sharapova to your case for a resolution a long time ago

In WA state, we have a lemon law where you can take the car back if the brand new car has this much of problem.
Really weird how a company like Porsche who makes billion $$$ of money isn't doing the right thing to satisfy one customer who has been having a night mare with their product.
(Glad it all got resolved, jesus, talking about the power of social media.)

Hello Nick,

I have watched all your video's on the big screen from the moment you explained all the options on/in your car. Really liked the video's and your humour (forgetting the handbrake and running after your car).

Best thing would be to get yourself an brand new 991. Same as you had and continue with your video's. Why?

Because only them you can show this was a "one off" lemon and re-establish the confidence of so many in the brand.

Orrrrrrrrr proof Porsche isn't THE quality brand anymore.

....May the force be with you....

Interesting tidbits in the article...

[UPDATE 2:00PM]

According to one of our readers who has been experiencing similar problems with Porsche North America, on a phone call with Porsche North America this morning, he learned that at least one official involved in the ‘Nine-A-Lemon’ viral video case is “no longer involved” in dealing with public relations matters.

No further details were give, but apparently Porsche headquarters in Germany is “not happy.”

[UPDATE 8:05 PM]

Porsche officials have confirmed that “the rumor that anyone has been terminated in our customer care department is absolutely untrue.”

Congrats Nick, so glad you finally get this resolved. I hope you will be buying another 911 which truly is a great car. I guess you won't be ordering it through the same dealer this time, they're the one really messing it up in the first place. Now, your new 911 better be perfect, otherwise, you, the dealer, and Porsche would be like here we go again...

Nick, thanks for such a great narrative as you were moving forward. As a Porsche owner, I hope we do not loose you as part of the family. Glad PCNA changed its direction, The only issue now is no matter what you do you have to uninstall the Escort system! Wish you well!

I would seriously, seriously consider NOT installing a radar system in your new car if you get another 911. Although it could all be coincidence, having so many electrical problems after having a radar system wired to your car, it seems logical to think that system install was the cause of at least some of the subsequent issues.

Ha, my wife just told me about the "Nine-A-Lemon" story she read on yahoo and I had to rush here to share the news. This story is bigtime now.

Seems like Porsche needs another marketing lesson - no? On how to turn lemons into lemonade (excuse the pun).

This would seem like the perfect opportunity to do something special for Nick to ensure he stays in the fold and show how this was a one off, poorly handled situation. We all make mistakes.

Show people how Porsche really cares about its customers - maybe even have Nick do a follow up video that I am sure we would all repost on how great they took care of Nick in the long run (once I'm sure the right people became aware).

Up to Porsche as what qualifies as special - full leather with deviated stitching, X51, PTS etc. or shoot for the stars and do something really special. Up to them.

Just a thought.

I agree. There is certainly an opportunity to market/brand the resolution of this, as an attribute. I guess that more formally defines a tone and precedent though. Could be somewhat complicated.

I don't know about Nick (or anyone else) but the kind of special treatment I would want would have nothing to do with freebie option upgrades. I would simply want to take delivery of my car from Michael Mauer right after doing the factory tour in Stuttgart, then drive to Leipzig where Museum Director Achim Stejskal talks me through the cars there before Andreaus Preuninger (or Walter Rorhl, or Patrick Long- totally flexible on this) joins me for some unforgettable on-track instruction. If Porsche wanted to arrange some tours of any of their other historic, manufacturing or racing facilities, and/or videotape the whole thing, I would be open to that too. Seems like it'd be great PR, and I'd love the heck out of it. Aww well, its fun to dream....

I do agree with you and, while not in the super detail you described, it was in line with what I was first thinking - just wasn't sure if all the folks over there would be happy to see Nick

Heck - do both - knock it out of the park!

I think this is possible. This possibility is why I had mine installed by the dealer.

I have long been curious about this, as well, including the degree to which this may have played a role in the temporary stand-off between Nick and Porsche. I believe Nick posted that it had nothing to do with the car's problems. But I wonder if Porsche agreed.
