In compare to a (sport) aspirated engine indeed any turbo is much easier to be understood,

is like the difference that exists between fine art and luxury things

not exactly the same thing

the facts not the opinions prove that the GT3 with even less
mid-low end torque (than a "normal" C2S and of course a Turbo)

is definitely faster on track (due to the Turbo understeering and weight)

the way the aspirated delivers torque is more sophisticated than the rude turbo

so has to be the driver and the roads where he lives ...(highways don t fit well with these kind of cars better an RS6 M6 and so on )

i think the p.o.v. of the thread author can be understood anyone
is able wothout many words to feel the rude turbo push
BUT i think is a challenge, takes more time to understand how
an aspirated engine sings so well and can be finely controlled

takes time and force a mind set change (personal growth in the way the things can be seen differently than before)

if you have time have sensitivity and willing to grow up as a driver
buy an aspirated and eventually the (fine) discussion (never ending) will be AWD or RearWD ?

but no way the best cars in the world ARE aspirated

unless you need a car for straight highways

Happy New Year!

But a sensible woman with a bit of driving talent, intelligence, style, discerning taste, a good sense of humor and a few coins and a Turbo can quietly rule (a good part of) the road(;->)

Best Wishes and my hopes for all to have a fine and Happy New Year in 2014.

Patty

Whatever route you choose... choose a little more wisely next time. If you care about the vehicles you drive SO much, a "yeah yeah" purchase seems very strange (never settle).
The Aston has very nice lines. I just watched the vid. You are right about the settling thing 100%.

All true

Personally, I think any talk about who can own the road is cute. Stomping on the gas with a monster car is easy.

Patty, when you get your 550 horse Turbo, we can find a nice short technical track with no long straights. I'll get my 2900 pound 993 with it's meager 250 stock torques and we'll see if you can keep up with me

Happy New Year and may you have a healthy and prosperous 2014

IMO, if OP is a guy, there will not be so much flak. Of course, if OP is a guy, he probably will not admit he made a mistake and post such thread.

This ^^^. To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised by how many have been taken in by it.

I figured I let someone else point this out. There were a couple of fellows that responded that had me beat miles wise.

Thanks and have a fine New Year!

A fun post!

Why does it have to be short? Why hamstring your car like that(;->)? We could do a short track, a long oval and how about, um, lets say, 3 0-100-0 runs and then a standing mile after that (Standing miles look like a lot of fun). Toss in some IPSC run and guns and 30 miles on a road bike. I'll put up a nice cup of coffee if you like... (wicked shrugs of the eyebrows). You would win for sure if handbrake turns are required.

Wishing a very Happy New Year to everyone

Standing miles and 0-100-0 runs don't require driver skill to execute. Anyone can write a check for horsepower; developing the skills to win on a road course takes real effort, talent, and perseverance.

As do the skills necessary to generate the $$ to indulge in the fun (you fail to comment the other challenges ?(;->). Thanks for your insight and have a fine New Year.
