Having the $$ for the car is just the ante to sit at the table. Winning the pot requires a lot more than merely having enough chips to sit down and take a deal.
Happy New Year!

With all due respect the OP being a female is an anomaly for a car forum so it receives added attention. I think the amount of comments and degree of judgement has more to do with the perception that the OP showed very little of the skill and prowess that she needed to earn the money to be able to purchase such a car when she actually did the buying. Most on here do tons of research, obsess over options, drive tons of cars, narrow it down to a model, then drive that car in every iteration possible before making their selection.
I think what most are at odds with, is the way in which she made the original "mistake". Most, female or male would not post with such honesty, the details. If it stung a little financially maybe it won't happen again. If it was a drop in the well maybe it will. We all have things we wish we'd done differently.

Hello and Happy New Year to you and yours.
I have done a fair bit of research on various 911's over the years as to wants and perceived needs. It was the expectations department where I failed in this exercise.
Yes, I did notice a bit of a sting it the quick turn around of my former 991, it wasn't a drop in the well. I am not generally cavalier in spending an above average amount on a depreciating asset like an automobile. It is not however a hardship of great proportion.
The car at the time had more than the required options I was about to order, at a good discount to a new order and was right in front of me. I did make a concession on the color and seats and a couple other optional items it had, but not huge at the time.
I realized that there was a cascading amount of compromises made pretty quickly apparent in that, for me anyway, the power delivery was not exactly to my tastes. Compound that with the seats (preferred 14 way), Color (preferred Grey or White), wheels (preferred the Sport Techno's over the Sport Design), sunroof (didn't want it).
None of the options separately were deal breakers and some actually helped recoup a good deal more when I did move on (PDCC, sunroof, 18 way seats, etc...) as many would prefer them and I got them at a good discount over ordering them. But when thinking about biggest item, power delivery AND all the other compromises the net of the car to me was sell it and move on to a better for me fit. Stem the depreciation blood letting with a quick turn and move on...
Ego plays not a big part in life for me and I laugh at myself when I do something silly or wrong footed. I make mistakes, sometimes celebrate them as they generally are of not big consequence in the big game of life. I 'fess up to mistakes and learn from them. Having had a good deal of instructional experience in my past careers, I like to put mine on display in hopes of someone avoiding making the same ones that I or others make.
A quick perusal of the Classifieds here or most anywhere will show a lot of low mile current year or 2014's even, back on the block. Bet more than a few would make a different choice to do it all over. I KNOW a few at the least that are more carefully considering their purchases because of this post. Some look to try and attack or belittle, I choose to try to educate.
That said, it does help others that REALLY know what they want in getting a bit of a better deal when they can get these cars at a pretty good discount to new with but a very few miles on them.
I hope the next owner of my car finds exactly what they are looking for. They will be getting a very comprehensively optioned 991 C4S for a very deep discount over what is generally available.
Be safe and enjoy the day and the New Year.

In my case I always custom order my car, so I get precisely what I want. I can imagine that the car buying experience can be intoxicating, especially when Porsches are involved. Anyway best of luck on your next purchase.

Nordschleife, Germany (20600 m)
This is arguably the most popular most demanding and also longest track for road-car track-days, magazine tests, prototype testing and race events. Originally, the track featured four track configurations: the 28.265 km long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Course");
nicknamed The Green Hell by Jackie Stewart, it is widely considered the toughest and most demanding
purpose-built race track in the world.

Still fun to play at driving and other competitive pursuits.
A few may disagree that their acquired skill sets are a given, common to all, be it a Dr., semi driver, pilot, welder, skier or what ever. It takes time, varying degrees of $$ and instructional time to reach an adequate level of competence in any given field.
One area to consider is money, along with (ideally but not always absolutely) instruction & practice, IS required to attain skills. Any skill set. Money is essential unless you are tossing rocks or crafting bows and arrows from saplings and vines or crafting the worlds largest ball of belly button lint
![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
With all due respect, to say it is a given that any profession, a Surgeon lets say, say has the same degree of training as the new to the workforce high school grad with their first hard saved for Porshe. It is a rather large fallacy in thought process to generalize like that and could be a slight to some.
Likewise, the comparison of the track oriented/street legal GT3 vs street oriented/track capable Turbo is to compare 2 vehicles 1 of which in it's prime usage and the other being used as it could be but out of it's prime element.
Why not compare the GT3 on the street in the comfort, ride and compromises you have to make to live with it vs the comfortable yet sporting opulence of the Turbo?
![ooops](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon501.gif)
I forgot it is my post we are in discussion of, not any others that have bought and then quickly traded, perhaps because I am but a silly minded female.
Getting back on track to my original post, I seems to some that admitting a mistake was made and then correcting it is a fault when I consider it a sign of higher thinking to learn from a mistake and move on. To each their own.
Enjoy Balocco, Italy on your next visit

400 miles are nothing to say what a car can/can t do,
unless you are really a race driver!
i am sure you will enjoy the Turbo for comfort ,it is anyway a good car,
you don t need to care the understeering and lack of sharpness while DD
very good that you can admit to have made a mistake it s big plus being able to do that
you will always do better doing so
let us know how do you feel the new car, we are hungry to hear of new experiences here
see u in Balocco then :-)

After you have contributed a full 7% of the posts as of right now, not to mention starting a separate thread with the sole intent of disparaging me.
Saying much else to you wouldn't help so why come back for more? Are you one of the people that isn't happy unless they are unhappy (;->)? Or do you have a different trolly agenda? Do take care in what gets posted according to forum protocol.
Perhaps it is time for you to say

I do hope you have a fine day and as always looking for your charming rapier like wit and incisive commentary

P.S. - I would certainly hope you were never unlucky enough to fly with me in the past as it would mean you were in need for emergency medical services.
