So, do you think a designer on loan from GM designed the Panamera? Couldn't have been a Porsche designer could it?

Two neighbours up the street (brothers or just good friends) both have the new C7. One's that shiny metallic blue and the other in red and wow do they sound the cats ****. I have to admit they are nice looking cars and the build quality appears to be quite good (just a casual sit inside perspective). Driving it would determine whether there are any creaks, rattles, etc. but both love their C7.
For the price it kills the 911 in value. No question there.
The 911 still has the prestige factor and nicer overall appearance but one is paying considerably more for that benefit and its something that I think Porsche should address. I've said it before it will take a lot of convincing the wife that stepping up from my 997.1 to a new 991 is worth it...
That being said the white/brown combo 991 that was posted in the for sale section has my wife in a lather...

Having seen the C7 in person, I have to admit that I love the design. There are a few clumsy angles, but every car will touch everyone differently.
Certainly less refined than 991 styling, but also more emotional. I believe that was their goal, and their market.
What is stunning, is the vehicle's proportions. You just stare and stare. The low hood, thin waistline, and wedge shape seem impossible to achieve. Thank the low profile V8.....
Remember that every line and vent on that car has a function.
I do prefer the 991, but it is because it is more of a 'me' car. Just like grey is my color. Doesn't mean I don't like yellow or red.....it's just would not be my purchase.

Sat in a C7 for the first time yesterday. While it's not quite up to Porsche standards, it's very good. I'm sticking with my Porsche, but if Porsche didn't exist, the C7 would be awfully tempting.

Those quad exhaust tips look ridiculous.

I'm with your wife. Anyone who enjoys driving ought to be able to notice in 100 yards. Sure some options it might take the right hundred yards. But you're talking about a car here whose smokin' hot forte is handling. Anyone unable to notice that in no time flat, its a sign. Pull over, get out, and start walking to the nearest Chevy dealer.
