I have the 9500ix too. How did you route the wiring? Down to the fuse box?

Robbie, I posted a series of pics/instructions on how I did my hardware, if you search u far my user name it should show up. very easy.
re the blend mount- I have not tried it in my 991 but dis in the 997 with self dimming mirrored and it really did not work. I could connect it Ok but it limited the range of adjustment
on the mirror. I hope they make a 991 self dimming compatible product as I would buy one. Right now I'm using the upgraded escort product, with one large suction cup and the lever to maintain the vacuum.

I got an e-mail from Blendmount today advising that a V1 and Escort mount for the Type 2 mirror is now available for purchase.

I put in my order as well. Does anyone know what it looks like? I imagine it's probably similar to the one they are now showing for BMW mirrors (which seem to have the same configuration problem as our cars).

Thanks for bringing the new mount option to our attention parkerfe!

I'm hoping to get it this week and install shorty after. Will post pics when its in.

That makes more sense with the corrected image... thanks!

They still need to update the product info page.

If anyone ended up purchasing a blendmount mirror mount for an Escort detector (for 991 auto-dimming Type II mirror) can you post how it worked out? I've seen some pics of that mount grabbing power from the mirror to power the detector. Would be interested in how easy that is to accomplish as well. Thanks a bunch

The Blendmount is for the physical attachment of the detector to the mirror as shown in the images on their website. Electrical connections are a separate matter as discussed in other threads on this forum. Most folks get power from the fuse box in the driver's side foot-well of the 991, and run the wire up to the mirror area by tucking under the A pillar.

Bought an escort redline with segmentation last week. I ran a 6 foot telephone wire around the top of the windshield, down the passenger pillar, and across the bottom footwell near the door to a female/female adapter. I ran the original coiled cord across the footwell.

If anyone's interested, I can post pics tomorrow. Very clean and out of the way/sight. I didn't want to mess around with the fuse box. There is still power running to the plug, but I think it turns off within 10 minutes or so.

Yes, please. That sounds like what I want to do.
