What are you driving now and would you get the new 991?
Just curious, I'm seriously thinking of changing my 996 C4S when the new hardtop cab 991 comes out.
Was wondering how many other are having similar thoughts?
Seems a lot of 997 owners are sticking with their current rides... what about the rest of you guys?
What do you have now and which model 991 would ya get?
Cheers!
Sid.

Sid,
I have a Honda Accord Coupe (see sig) and if I had the available funds, I would get a 991 C2S Coupe with Full Leather and other options like PSE.

'97 993. And yes. My wife would like a "new" 911 for trips of medium to long distance. I have been deciding between trying to get one of the last GTS allocations (change order in system) or order a new 991S. It's looking like waiting for a new one. Watch for a well sorted PY car for sale...

I have been eagerly anticipating the new P-car, as I am curious to see what it looks like in the flesh, the pix are intriguing. My 2003 C2 is in great shape, and the suspension work should be done in the next few weeks, having said that I have been drooling over the GT3/GT3Rs for some time and I want to see what the new GT3 (991) variant will look like. That should be in about 3-4 years???? Then I will decide, as I also want to know about the new owner's 991 "issues" (RMS/IMS/CL wheels, coolant hose failures, expansion tank cracks, etc.- history shows we tolerate quite a bit, but it is still, nonetheless, an expensive, joyous addiction). These items are huge for me, and I want more info before jumping off into the deep end...there is no deep well from which to continuously draw funds.......... I will sit on the edge of the GT3 variant abyss, before taking the plunge.

996 4S, wouldn't trade it in. If I could manage it I would get a 991 GT3 and keep my 4S as the DD.
If I had the money and could only have one car. I think I'd trade in the 4S for a 991 TT not sure I could trade it in for a 991 4S but I would give it some serious thought. I would never think of doing any thing like that for a 997, well maybe for the 997 GT3 RS but I think I wouldn't be happy with it once the 991 GT3 came out.

If money were no object or we were all given $30-$70K or so to cover our gaps from depreciated old to usher in the brand spanky new, my guess is that a great many of us would drop our 997s cold and go straight to the 991.
That lower, wider, sleeker front end and overall body makes it a panty dopper! And this one's "just" the narrow body Carrera S.

997 C2S
Not in a hurry to get any new car soon. But in maybe 3-4 years, a 991 C2S would be a strong candidate. Can't see any other new car I would want to replace the 997 with other than the 991.
Other used options would be a 997 GT3 RS or keep my 997 as my DD and go back in time for something like a 993TT as a weekend toy.

Anyone one know when Porsche is planning to come out with the 991 GT line?
