W00tPORSCHE, you have an 09 CS4 I see. I am thinking of picking up the same model and year used and keeping it for two years and then trading up to a new or lightly used 991S.

Is this wise or should I just go with the 991S now?

A base 991 is a consideration for my next daily driver. The looks has passed my criteria, but reliability verdict is still out. Besides, I usually let depreciation take its course for a few years.

I currently drive an E55 AMG, which replaced a DD 140K mile 996. I considered a 997 but would like an improved PDK, no IMS and less road/tire noise penetrating the cabin.

Daily driver is a 110 Defender. Too bad these are not imported in the US. I suspect if they were Jeep sales would plummet.

I was considering the last GT3, but production closed and my military sales dealer could not order a regular GT3. I was not a fan of the GT3RS.

I am going to let the public R&D the new 991 and I may pull the trigger in another year or so. Who knows, maybe the new GT3 version will make me stimulate my host nation's economy.

deposit down for first 991 GT3 at dealer, trading my '11 Exige S 260 DD, thinking I'm one of a few that will think the GT3's behavior will be cadillac'ish compared to my current DD.....

My jealousy (from the US) of your Defender 110 knows no boundaries. Both would be excellent daily drivers... I'd take a Defender 110 no question as a daily driver. A 991 would be a perfect complement to that car. Drive that 110 in good health sir!

I have an issue with that, too. I also hate the idea of 'creating' engine sound, electronics filtering information from the road, and I do not think wider is better in a sports car; it is the primary reason why I don't like driving Corvettes.

And I learned my lesson buying a first model year Porsche with my 997.

Looks like I will be keeping my Spyder for the foreseeable future...
