Between 1999 and 2000 1858 Mk1 GT3s were built. The first 1350 in 1999 and when the factory had another production gap in September - November 2000 they made another 508.

Borrowed from "Mathys" on 6speedonline:
Some spy shots taken by a Dutch guy and shown on a Dutch website.
A couple of 991's were on a ferry from Goteborg, Sweden to Kiel, Germany. He managed to get a few quick shots, as they got covered by the test drivers in 10 seconds. They weren't very amused when he said to them: 'Nice looking car'.
Later in the lounge he overheard them complaining about adaptive cruise control not working properly when accelerating quickly.

What is the horizontal panel running across the roof above the rear window?

Not sure.... Extra large sunroof with rear roof panel?? Man that's gonna be mega ugly *** end with that huge deck lid/ lifting spoiler unit...
