Thinkdiag Magic

I’ve decided after buying one of these ThinkDiag OBD tools & battery tester that I’m not going to use it for now so I put it on the marketplace. I just don’t feel like dealing with the whole android device requirement to make it do what I need. Everything is brand new and sealed from factory.

I have a 17 991.2 and have done 8 or 9 recoding changes with the Thinkdiag but having problems with the EBD System coding. I The EBD is where the brake lights flash at a given speed or g force. I saw a post where you set above what speed you want it to turn on and what decel g force it activates the brake light flashing and what decel g it stops .After doing this my EBD is still not active. My problem is that the EBD seems to have more parameters than that. I think the example coding was for a 718. Has anybody done it on the 991.2 with the Thinkdiag and how did you code it?
It worked for me, I just followed the instructions listed in the 718 PDF link. After reading your posts, I thought maybe it doesn't work for me either (never tested it), but I mentioned this to my friend as I was helping him program stuff for his car and he told me he saw it flashing when I was on track with him earlier this month. Another friend said he also sees the brake lights flashing on spirited drives too.

The 991.2 seems to have more parameters. Speed on and speed off. The 718 only mentions speed on. Decel on decel off. Do know the exact numbers you used in each parameter? Seems it has more parameters than the 718 link.

I still have that occur, but could not program to have it occur during street driving.

It’s been a while, but I believe I just used the parameters given in the PDF.

Since I have an iphone I got a decent new Samsung tablet today- I know nothing about android tablets but when I turned it on it said to install a microSD card, which of course didn't come with it. I won't connect it to a phone so do I need that? And then when trying to download the thinkdiag app it said it wasn't available for this device. It definitely is an android tablet, and it's not the cheapest one either... already VERY frustrated. Unfortunately I don't have any teenagers living in the house so I am SOL...
Not sure which android device to get which will allow the thinkdiag app- maybe I should just say screw it before I really f**k up my car. Never had these issues with the VAG-COM software for my VW-Audi products!!!

Newbie question- downloaded the app thanks to suggestion above- when open I don't see an option "System selection", just All Systems diagnostic, Maintenance functions, OBD function, reports, etc. Where do I find system selection so I can start coding?

Someone shared a PDF with step by step instruction. I think "All system diagnostics" is the one and then you will select the module you want to view and then go into Brush code something something to do the coding. Try find that PDF here.

Thanks again bmx- hopefully someone here can provide a link to the pdf- I've been trying to find it in the 55+ pages on this thread! The guy who posted is seems to be banned so you can't PM him...

Spent some time in the garage this afternoon playing with the ThinkDiag and my new tablet and I think it actually worked! Now I can open and close the windows with the remote on both the T and the spyder. Coded the coolant temp gauge on the T and will see if that works when I drive it tomorrow. Hopefully goodbye to the constant 194!!
Now to re-read the 50+ pages of this thread to see what else I want to try...
