Wrestling with purchase of 991.2 2017 Carrera S Cabriolet

Like the title says, I’m thinking about buying a purchase of 991.2 2017 Carrera S Cabriolet. The biggest concern I have is the dealership has had it for over 90 days. It was listed at ~$108,000, then dropped to ~$97,900, then $95,900 11/29, and today lowered to $95,353. This is without any negotiating, it’s just dealer dropping price.
I finally got a responsive person at the dealership who’s been nice but the dealership itself gives me a weird feeling because people don’t answer the phones and reviews are pretty bad. It has a True360 report and not a Carfax. Is that normal? Dealership says no accidents and the report reports a minor one.
Compounding that, I’m states away and I’d not be able to see it in advance though I’d insist on a PPI which they said was no problem. Unfortunately they are the only Porsche dealership nearby and no one in the Reddit forum has any recommendations for PPI in that part of New York.
it’s a CPO which should give some comfort but I have a nagging feeling that I could miss something from far away. Or in person because I’m not as car savvy as many of you!
it could just be taking a long time to sell because it’s a unique spec of Carrara White over red leather with a red top. It looks sharp but it’s a lot of red for some. People will either love or or pass. And it’s no longer convertible season in New York.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Guy from dealership reached out today and seems motivated to sell the car, I appreciate his interest. When you’re wearing rose colored glasses, sometimes red flags just look like flags. - BoJack Horseman.
Thanks much in advance.

Definitely take comfort in it being a CPO. Most of us have similar experiences with dealerships so don't get an ego and walk away because they have poor communication skills.
Prices across the board have been dropping in the past month, just look at previous 911 sales on 'Cars and Bids' and BaT.
Its a slow time of year for sales, plus the color spec is not for everyone. Personally, I think its cool and it has some really nice options. If its in your price range and it checks all your boxes, I say go look at it and be prepared to drive it home.
Also here's the full option list if you're interested: https://vinanalytics.com/car/WP0CB2A96HS155538/

You could always ask and see if there is a RL'er in or around Long Island (where Freeport is) that would be willing to lay eyes on it for you.
Also, isn't this the Carfax for the car? https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor..._j23fZNiCODPdc
Good luck.

You need to go look at it before you spend any money on a PPI.

I probably would pass as it has had minor damage on the drivers side according to the carfax, but that's just me.

Car is not selling because of unusual color combo, not high spec, accident reported and price not yet considerate of the foregoing elements. I would tell them to call you when they will sell at $85K. CPO is really helpful/piece of mind. Nice Bordeaux red gauges on that one too

I was very interested in a 991.1 TTS at that dealer and finally gave up trying to reach anyone who would answer. They finally called me nearly two weeks later after I purchased another 911 somewhere else. I’m not sure what’s going on at that dealer.

The Carfax damage report would make me pause. I would want to understand if the door/other panels have been replaced/repainted. I think with Carrera white it may be tough to spot a mismatch in photos.
My broader advice: if it doesn't feel right, don't force it. Take your time, get the PPI if you want, and if they sell it in the meantime don't worry about it. There will be other cars. Like others have said, time is on your side as prices are softening.

dealers drop prices because the car isn't moving (3 months is a long time to sit on a lot). it doesn't matter that it may be overpriced for the current market, had a small accident or is a less desirable color/spec.
you have to decide; why am I hesitating? is it the color/spec, the accident or the price. will a lower price mitigate the color/spec or the accident and if so, how low? at some point the price will drop low for enough for someone to open their wallet.
when I bought my 2017 last year prices were starting to come off of their peak. this car had the most important options that I was looking for but not all. it had a minor rear end accident, but that was back in 2017. the car sat on the lot for 2 months without a single sniff so they dropped the price $20K (CDN) and I jumped on it. no regrets at all. FWIW whenever I saw a car with the white/red combo for sale it was a hard pass for me, I consider it too bfugly, IMHO.

there was a Cabriolet on BaT this week that was white, with a blue cover, bright Red leather, and gold rims. Too much for me, but a couple people bid aggressively. To each their own.
to your point I think it’s just price getting in the way. I think for the right price I’d be more adventurous with the purchase and trust that a combo of PPI that I’d pay for and CPO covers any unknown issues
how does one go about negotiating a downward price when the car has already decreased a lot. (Because it needs to be lower) SOMEONE suggested offering 85,000 which I’d be okay with at this point given what I know.
last question: how well do Carerra S cabs hold value. In general it seems like pretty well from my research but this is obviously a different time than “normal” - there’s a similar mile non S with a black top but otherwise similar and I’ve read the base Carreras don’t hold value as well.
thanks again anyone who responds!
