Default Experience with Cobb tuning?

Thinking about pulling the trigger on the access port for my 991.2 C4S I have 62k miles on the car and it’s plenty past but hey who doesn’t want even more power. Wondering if anyone has purchased an Accessport and what their experience was. Secondly should I be concerned about having a higher mileage car. Car is under a fidelity extended warranty.

I've had a Cobb Stage One Tune on my 2017 991.2 CS for six months. Transforms the cars performance. Smooth power delivery. Peak hp 471 hp, Max 552 hp.

Had engine tune, and PDK tune, on my .1 turbo S which my son now has. Wanted the "motorsport" direction for the shifter which the .2's already have. Happy with it but watching the dash while it is installing can give you a heart attack! Looks like a nuclear meltdown!

Have a softronic tune on my 981 spyder and though the installation process is different, happy with that as well. Lots of people are happy with "Sam's" tunes so I'm sure someone will chime in.

I have the Cobb stage 1 on my 991.2 Carrera and it feels a lot faster than stock. However I am switching to Softronic because I think it will make more power and he can actually tune for certain exhaust mods that Cobb can't

After all your Mod's are complete you can data log your car and download the info to your AccessPort then send it to several different tuners of your choice for a custom tune.
This is what I have I plan on doing in the next few weeks,
You'll go through the gears to 3rd and hit the redline for the download,

Is this kind of what I mentioned above or completely different?

I question the degree of testing done by Cobb Protuners compared to a larger more professional organization like APR. I've seen the degree of development and testing done by their team, but suspect the Protuners are more of the just crank things up to the (possibly detrimental) max level crowd without any regard to hardware longevity...but if I am wrong, please tell me why with supporting data.

You are completely wrong and have no idea what you are talking about.

Supporting data? My Car!!!

APR did one car, and never released that tune. Made promises for years about PdK tune, never happened. Tune at home, never happened. Extra development, such as fuel pumps for the hybrids, never happened.

M-Engineering Protuner Full customisable PDK tune on my car to handle the M800 turbo’s and full bolt ons.

COBB custom Protune by Diversion garage E40 for the last 3 plus years. I destroy GT2-RS and Pista at the track.

Enjoy your OTS APR tune. It’s nothing like what Tyler has, or had? I heard he sold it?

Supporting data is not a single knucklehead's car. I am asking about how much development is actually done and what their technique of testing the durability of their tune is. I know what APR's is as Tyler's car is on video illustrating the 28+ sensors installed to monitor every key adjustment made. That's reassuring.

Your saying "trust me because I'm a weekend warrior" is not exactly hard data regarding how Protuners actually do their tunes.

A full Protune is done on the dyno. The real issue is, people want the world, and want it for free. Pay peanuts, get monkey’s. You need to pay for dyno time.

Whilst most will be more than happy with a couple of hours, you can keep revising and refining as much as your budget can take.

Including logging on the track after the dyno, and having more refiniements, and wven more dyno time.

Its the customer that decides how far they want to go and spend.

That's great...but you haven't answered my question about the development and testing process regarding assuring max mechanical longevity. Your results almost prove my point about being cranked up a bit too aggressively. Now showing me what your tuner's testing process is regarding maintaining reasonable safeguards, and then maybe I'll feel differently about Cobb Protuners. Nobody seems to be able to answer that question...which in way actually kind of answers it

The problem is cooling , after 100 degree iat the ecu is retarding ignition timing ... so if you do pulls your ok but if you track you need better i/c and or à water/meth injection is a good option for cooling and dont worry for to be safe you have knock sensors that will put down timing and save your engine if fuel is no good ,your cobb with datalogging will tell you if your tune and fuel is good so no worry @4 Point 0 do you have a log to share when you track your car?
