Default Air Conditioner Quit - Fixed ! ( or not )

When I started my 2017 C2 today there was no air, no fan, nothing. Probably a fuse ? How would I try to fix this, I'm 50 miles from a Porsche dealer.

is the HVAC panel lit up, like you can see it's set for LO and max fan or whatever, and nothing is happening?

Yes, I can see the light indicating it is on and if I press max air it lights up. Fan indicates it's on. I read the manual about replacing fuses and then I made an appointment at Porsche of Orlando for tomorrow morning. It was far from clear which fuse might be out.

My owner's manual says the fuse to check for the fan blower motor is in the passenger kick panel, row A, fuse 3. Should be a 40 amp fuse. Check to see if it's blown.

Yes that's the fuse I thought it should be. How do you know if it's blown ? Is there a replacement fuse in the box ? What confused me is on page 119 it shows a picture with 1,2, and 3. 1 is a picture of what it says are replacement fuses but that would be where the fuse that might be blown would be.

the 40a fuse is a fat version of this. There are also points on the top of the fuse where you can test using a DVOM.

There should be some spare fuses on the driver side fuse box at the top, this is that picture on page 119, the area labeled 1.

The fuse you're looking for is on the passenger side fuse box. The photo on page 120 . This fuse box does not have spare fuses in it.

Some video explanation:

Yes good. The thing is to blow a 40 amp fuse would take a lot of juice and that's what worries me.

That 2nd video is incorrect, it is the bottom right fuse, not the bottom left.

oh? if it's fuse A3 then it's the bottom left, according to the embossed cover.

easy enough to check both, anyways.

Do the 991.2’s have the same HVAC fan as the 991.1?

If not, never mind, but if so, there can be issues were the fan just won’t turn. But, if you access it from the frunk, and give the fan cage a spin, it will start. I actually had that happen on a trip to Vero Beach. It is accessible in the exterior cabin filter compartment.

There are threads here on the subject….even some Youtube videos. That’s how I found out, after checking all the fuses. Its been 18 months and it has not happened again.

Good luck.

A3 is bottom right. See manual page 121 and thanks for the help.

I found a video on how to do this, I'll try it . Lots of people have had this problem.

It took me 5 minutes to fix it. Thank God for Rennlist and the people that helped me. I learned a lot. Thanks.

Just a manual spin of the blower fan which can be accessed under the cover where you would replace the cabin air filter.
