"It's better to have loved an AMG and trade it for a Porsche than to never have owned a Porsche at all. Open your heart to your new 911 and let yourself be surprised. Don't compare your 911 to 'what was', allow yourself to be present for the 'what is' and build the 'what will be' - together."

I have a Eurocharged tuned AMG 43 (claimed 480hp) and a 911.
The AMG is simply the car i'm forced to drive when the weather does not allow the 911 to come out.
You will have no regrets. I promise.

Hi pdkZ

I'm exactly in the same boat as you. Currently driving a C63s sedan but, although it feels visceral and crazy, it really doesn't cut it when it comes to driving dynamics. I'd want the gruntand practicality of the 63 with the composure, precision and stunning looks of the 911, but that car doesn't exist yet.

So @pdkZ , how are you finding the 911 a couple of months after getting it? Any regrets?

Also have had a couple C63s, E63s and working on a second 911. They are very different cars. The practicality and power of the AMGs is truly awesome, but a newer 911 is a telepathic scalpel by comparison.

Default 991.2

Buy the best car you can afford. But get a manual for the driving experience! Also a great any theft device!
There are also plenty of options to increase HP
no matter what you get it’s a winner!
Enjoy the drive!

The s imo and those driven when choosing a base over a .2s were less responsive. Yes more power but less response. The bad for me with the base is lack of lsd or ptv, whatever allows the inside tire to light up. This alone would have resulted in a .2s purchase if known. Now considering a trade for a cross turismo.

^ Lack of LSD for sure.

PTV—which mainly seeks to cancel understeer/improve turn in by braking the inside rear wheel on the way into a bend—is a double-edged sword: it's great in heavy, complex models, but adds a layer I don't love in simple/light models (of which there have been increasingly few) even if it improves performance. YMMV. The inside rear tire lights up in my Carrera from time to time, but it's hardly something that happens a lot or has me wanting to move on—especially to an EV. With that said, get the GTS Sport Turismo. I started rethinking my 991.2 as a daily after driving it…until I got back into the 991.2. But it's easily the most appealing EV I've tried. By a lot.

As for the base Carrera being enough, I was crazy enough to option a Carrera up to Carrera GTS money—and gut-checked myself several times by configuring a GTS before I hit send. Several years later, no regrets…and 370 is still a real sweet spot. At least for me.

Judging by the recent tidal wave of T owners putting GTS turbo’s, TiAL M660’s and even M800 turbo’s on their cars, I would say that 370 was never enough.

I have M800-GTS on my GTS, and I have to say they are conservative. It is nit a tyre frying machine. It’s the opposite. Moving the power curve to the right, makes it linear and smooth and easier to drive. 700hp is the new 370hp. And 700 is just enough. If I had if known how tame the M800’s were, I would have dealt with V-Band of Garret and gone bigger frames. Like G25-550’s.

450 on a GTS was never enough.

For most people, yes, the base will be enough.
For me, I knew it wouldn't be (hence my car is highly modified already). But that's okay. I would modify a GT3 if I had one too. It's just me.

Soon, I'll be adding IC's and a tune for around 500hp. Will it be enough? Stay tuned...

I daily drive a previous gen E63S, and the T is my weekend. The T feels faster to me due to its visceral nature. The AMG is much "tamer" in comparison
