Default 4.0 Mods

I thought it was time to have a mod thread on my car, rather than keep adding to other specific ones. feel free to ask any questions about any mods and choices.

The car is mint. For those that have not followed the GT3 Front bumper thread, I have quite a few mods. I’ll start with the latest ones, and eventually they’ll all end up in here.

RAS Delete is my latest mod. Now whilst my car did not come with RAS, it has a factory RAS delete bar, which of course has floppy rubber bushings. So I have just ordered this from Tarett.

I wanted the RAS delete bar, as I just replaced all the rear control arms with E-Motion bars.

Man are they pretty and do they settle the rear down.

4.0 GTS-RS

I have OEM GT3 front end and the GT3-RS side skirts. Thought i had best put a pic of the actual car, for those that haven’t seen it.

Default OS Giken Mechanical LSD

Factory E-Diff

Modified OS Giken

Stock OS Giken

The OS Giken 1.5 mechanical diff has really settled the car into a serious track weapon.

Its a joy to drive.

I currently have Vektor headers which are awesome for sound and performance, paired to Akrapovic sport cats.

However I have ordered the Tial M660 Hybrid turbo, brand new with New OEM GTS frames. So Depending on availability, if these Tubi catless down pipes can arrive in time, I’ll delete the Akara cats.

I like threads like this. Helps others see what’s out there, that we may not even know about. A great build so far!

I have Tractive Coilovers. 100 front and 150 rear springs with a custom map from Tom on the DSC Sport controller. Its mint. Full track mode and its compliant on the street.

Default Brakes

Anyone who tells you stock brakes are good enough, doesn’t realise how slow they are or how fast these cars can be.

Brakes are an on going saga.
1. I turned the stock calipers Brown.
2. I disintegrated brand new rear OEM pads in 3 x 20 min sessions to bare metal. Oops left T/C on.
3. Replaced entire BBK Brembo GTS 380mm front and rear.
4. cooked the front calipers again, turning them pink.

Under warranty

Brembo thought it was a good effort and replaced them free of charge.

I now have the 72 Vane front rotors instead of the 46 vane. So cooling is much better and the new calipers have not discoloured yet.

Currently running Endless ME20, but i have ordered N35S for more track days.

Default Tyres

Stock Pzero were pure rubbish. Tossed them with almost full tread.

Cup2. Massive improvement. Awesome on the street. However tread grooves too wide apart and the tyre V’s on grooves from lateral movement. I tore the bead of a rear one . Later found out it was from T/C biting rear brake.

Since turning Traction Control full off, I no longer use rear pads. About 4-5 sets of fronts to one set of rear now, instead of one to one original set.

AR-1’s. Brutes. Take a punishment. Guilt free skids. Cheap as chips. Noisey as hell. A ton of fun, just for burning rubber and practise, not for serious times.

R888R. Awesome for street. Work from dead cold to warm . Hate getting hot. So slidding all iver the shop on the track. But hook up from cold on street. Great street racer tyre.

TrofeoR - big step up again from cup2. Need warming up to be at their best, but when they come up to temp, one of the best all rounders.
Operate from warm and are fine being hot. No good when cold.

GoodYear eagle F1 -RS. 265/35/20
Awesome track tyre. Ran on street, but no longer do large street km’s. Next lever grip at track. But they pick up rubber everywhere. Everything sticks to them.

Cup2-R. Very under rated. When you want to go faster than you have ever gone before, this is your tyre. If you can get stock . I will run these all the time, if Michelin can keep supplying me.

GY Eagle F1 SS RS

4.0 on top

Old pic. Look how small the standard GT3/GTS side skirts are to the above RS side skirts.

Default Tarett Sway bars

I have OEM GT3 front sway bar. You can’t use most aggressive hole. But middle is fine.

Tarett rear sway bar, no issues. Make sure you order the correct end links or they won’t work.
