When I get pulled over, my trick has been to put on classical music in the background and answer everything politely. I got a warning each time. One time I got a ticket because the the classical channel was on commercial (pre digital days and didn’t have a classical music cd). Argh!

I've only had my C2S for a year, but sometimes I wonder if I should sell it prophylactically because I know I'm going to wind up in the s***. I'm a pretty mild mannered driver, but sometimes on those awesome twisty roads or empty, long, straight freeways..... well, what's a poor boy supposed to do!? I have a Uniden R3 and it has saved my bacon a good half dozen times. It's paid for itself several times over.

Never had a speeding ticket issued to me in 51 years of speeding.
here's the trick:
Officer manning a radar gun who puts down his coffee and danish and pulls you over doesn't want to be called a liar. He wants you to respect him and to his authority..
This is easier for me as a bald white geezer (I am 67) in a Porsche than as a young teen in a 68 firebird, but the same formula has worked all these years:
1. Pull over as soon as it is safe.
2. Remove wallet and remove drivers license, registration and insurance card.
3. lower window and place hands on steering wheel;
4. if officer asks you why you think he stopped you ADMIT SPEEDING, don't grin, laugh or make other comments unless he asks "how fast were you going'' and then admit to the speed. This is important if you were in fact speeding because to do otherwise is to call a danish deprived cop a liar. Don't do that. This also will usually shock the cop because most folks lie to him when stopped by denying they were speeding. Admit, be good natured about it and then apologize for inconveniencing him in a genuine fashion.
5 BE POLITE.
BE VERY CAREFUL in jurisdictions that characterize high speed as a misdemeanor - Virginia - 20 over could be jail time.
in the past the cop has issued a ticket for an expired inspection (NJ State Police and I was doing 95vmph in a Toyota at 3 am on Route 202 before the bridge into Pennsylvania - cop asked how fast I thought I was going and I told him 95...he said he clocked me at 85) or a warning.

I ordered the body cam too just to see how I portrayed myself. Although I was honest and polite, it seemed like I was way too quick to answer his questions and maybe seemed like I was rushing him. Perhaps next time I will slow down with my responses and approach. He still gave me a lecture and the whole "I can take you to jail right now and impound your car, but thanks for being honest."
The court would not reduce the charge to just a fine with no points... It's not the fine which bugs me, it's the points and driving record.
The time before that in an older 911... Lets just say that was a heavy modded missile. I shouldn't have stopped. I was at least 1/2 a mile ahead on a long empty highway when he turned his lights on. Train lengths is an understatement. Had plenty of time and space to get off the next exit and lose him.

I have a 968 and was driving it home from a wine dinner, after arriving at the airport from a trans atlantic flight. i was never so tired. I not so smartly decide to hit the local on-ramp to show the bride how well this car sticks, by time i reach the highway we were doing close to 100, tires squealing i get on high way and slow right down to speed limit, good thing as there was a statepoliceman behind me, he couldn't stay with me on the corner, but on the highway he caught up really fast, pulled me over and says what's the hurry? i thought i was going to get arrested.. He asked the fateful question "have you had anything to drink tonight?" i answer honestly, i had been to a wine tasting after a long flight from Europe. He didn't know what it was i was driving, he never heard of it, only said to me was you did slow right down, but he had me at 85 on the on-ramp, ha if only. he let us go with out any warning. I think he was more curious than anything.. Not many 968's out there..
I still have the old girl, still takes corners square..

No tickets in past 15 years:
Todays electronic counter measures work well and are very effective. Never leave home without them. Also, I try to keep my head on a swivel and constantly check my mirrors for as the CHP still does a lot of passive pacing to catch speeders.
- All vehicles have a minimum of one radar detector
- TTS is protected with both laser shifter & Escort 360 with both front and rear antennas.

Once in 60 years, in 1990, since I got my driver's license in 1961. That was in rural Southern Mississippi by a local deputy sheriff. No way I could get out of it, with my Yankee accent, even tho I'm conservative. I've used the latest radar and lasar detectors, since they were available. And I also use Waze every time I drive either of my Porsches. And I try to be careful. But I do love G forces while driving my Porsches!!

This. I regretfully left my escort 360c in my SUV. It would have 100% saved my *** from that ticket I posted about above. I noticed in the body cam footage the cop had a Falcon radar gun mounted on his dash.. Later on on that same street with my radar detector it would pick up the squad cars under a K band.

Haven’t gotten a ticket since before 1977. Last one was by the Fort Lauderdale PD, notoriously hard on traffic violations. Nothing to do but take your lumps.
During that time I owned motorcycles and a Miata. Lived in south Florida until early 2000s so traffic wasn’t conducive for speeding.
Didn’t own a true performance car till the ‘19 C4S. Where we live now there are places were you can open it up but you have to be selective (radar detector and WAZE help). I do drive smartly and leave traffic behind, Porsche engine response is sweet.
Thing is, probability is such that if you persist in behaving in a certain way (speeding) you will get caught eventually.
What is striking is the speed on the interstates, at least in the SE states. If you do 70, you get run over. Traffic in the left moves at 80-85. As I like to cruise above the pack, that can put you at 90, danger zone speed.
Got to be smart and pick your spots.
Also got to know the 911’s limits with one visit to the ATL Porsche track and four visits to the PTX.

I have the AWE front & rear. Got hit on I-95 in Ga. doing 126 in a 70. The AWE showed he got 1 mph. Cop never came after me. Got about 13 miles up the road, and there’s another one flagging me over. Tells me he could write me a $500 ticket for the jammers, no points as it’s not a moving violation. In the end, let me go

Laser is not prominent in my area thankfully. On some rural highways I've seen it listed online. There are databases out there to see what's in your area. Jammers are not illegal in my area. I was going to do an integrated setup, but found it was not necessary. I wish there were radar jammers too that could jam KA and K bands.
Otherwise, like mentioned get some laser jammers.
You're a COP? Oh man, I would have never figured from your posts. Then again, it makes some sense now. Oh how lucky you are to have that going for you while owning a TTS. Spill the beans, what's the best way out of a ticket Officer Swole?

HA!! LOL
Yeah, I've always pride myself on NOT acting like a "Cop". lol
Probably because I didn't become one until I was 34 years old. Not 21 like most did.
Starting later in life has helped me not become the "stereotypical" one.
Let's just say I know it's a serious job but it's not meant to Define a person.
As for getting OUT of the citation, well I've been stopped plenty of times before I was one too. Got out of many but also got plenty of citations (mostly speeding) when I worked in sales and traveled 600 miles a week.
In my opinion, the best way to get out of a citation is much of what "rnl" stated.
1-PULL OVER IN A SAFE PLACE FOR THE OFFICER!!!! Meaning off the roadway into a parking lot, side street, or at least WAY off the roadway into the grassy area of a hwy. So THEY CAN'T GET HIT BY OTHER TRAFFIC.
2-ROLL ALL THE WINDOWS DOWN AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF!!!! (Unless it's raining heavily of course). We like to be able to SEE THROUGH THE VEHICLE (Especially if the windows are tinted).
3-HAVE DOCUMENTS READY AND NOT BE FIDDLING ABOUT WHEN WE APPROACH. HANDS JUST NEED TO BE WHERE WE CAN SEE THEM, NOT HANGING OUT THE WINDOW LIKE SOME DO... LOL
4-YOU DON'T HAVE TO ADMIT TO THE INFRACTION, BUT PLEASE FOR GODS SAKE, DON'T MAKE ANY OF THE USUAL STUPID EXCUSES..lol. The excuses that insult the intelligence of the officer. We've heard them all. At least come up with something Original.
5-CRACK A JOKE OR SOMETHING. GET ME LAUGHING OR AT LEAST RELAXING A BIT. IT'S GOOD TO SHOW HUMILITY.
6- BIG ONE HERE!!!!!----- IF YOU WANT A WARNING...ASK FOR ONE!!!!! It's like in Sales. You won't get the sale you don't ASK FOR!! Ask for it BEFORE the officer returns to the car to write / type. Once they've put in the work, they will more than likely NOT reduce it.
7-We've heard them all, but if you can seem to sound original and genuine with your "Reason" for needing a warning (CDL, Job related, Want to keep driving record clean, etc.) we're more likely to have compassion and give warnings.
Just remember, Cops are human and into today's climate where the Media, Race Baiters, Cop haters in general, etc. are causing SO Many of us to Leave or want to leave the profession, so you can one of two things: 1) TALK YOURSELF OUT OF A CITATION 2) TALK YOURSELF RIGHT INTO A CITATION!!! You would be amazed as the disrespect some people show, RIGHT off the bat before we even speak the first word on approach. Those people end up getting exactly what they deserve. Life is a game, you have to play it correctly. TACT goes a LONG WAY!! We are NOT robots...
