I thought the point was to clutch kick the car to get it sliding, or be able to dump the clutch for a smokey pull away rather than triggering launch control, aka hoon mode
Im going for alignment check Saturday, I will check with my dealer to see if its enabled. I dont have any goodies in my wheel so I guess its a standard wheel. Of course Ill check Friday

no
It does not work this way on the 991.1
at least not in my experience- maybe someone knows how?
The neutral/paddle thing freaked me out when I drove my first 991.1... thought I had broken something while on a test drive. Had a 2-3 second no-go at the light before I accidentally found the gears again. LOL
This works the same on the 981 PDK cars as well. I have the Cobb PDK tune file which has an option to convert it to the GT car setup where pulling both paddles back and holding puts the car into neutral and then goes back into gear as soon as you let go, vs the factory "click on, click off". Its also reverses the center console shift direction to match the GT3. As stated above, there is no way to hurt the PDK in any way doing this at any time. The car will just go back into the appropriate gear for whatever you are doing at the time.

982 is the same with APR tune adding kick feature.
as for the topic at hand, prior to tune it still had ability to enter neutral with both paddles activated
For some reason I thought I remember reading somewhere hat his only works on cars equipped with sport chrono? Maybe not tho.
I'm not sure on that either, but I do have the SC option on my 981 as a data point. I thought it was just a PDK thing, but that could be the explanation as to why some report being able to do it and others not.
