Default Rear view camera question

I have a '13 C4S, and I was looking to add a rearview camera. Are there any options using the PCM? Or would I have to go completely aftermarket?

I have a 14 gt3 and am also looking for a rear view cam option. Navtv seems like the best option. Get apple car play plus add rear cam

There is the carplay adapter that also does the rear camera with steering wheel lines.

Yup and it's a much better value than than the various stand alone PCM integration options as you also get carplay.

What if we already have Carplay? I have a 991.2 and I would like a camera.

The install is a little intimidating for me, does anybody know of a shop in SoCal that has experience in installing this setup?

It's not super hard to do, just time consuming, any high end car stereo shop should be able to do it, but my guess is labor would be approached 800-1000. I am moving to LA in October and would be happy to offer guidance if it's something you would like to attempt.

That's a very kind offer and I might just take you up on it.

What part of LA are you moving to?

I don't know about camera options, but I gotta say the Porsche factory rear view cameras on the Cayenne and my 991.2 are terrible! The camera on my Ram 3500 pickup is way better than these.

Check out this thread, a TON of info. There are several ways to add a camera and lots of options.
I did the JoyAuto CarPlay kit and then added a camera to that, it looks, feels and act like a OEM camera.
Install was a bit of a PITA!

Didn’t all 991.2s come standard with rear cameras?

Edit: Ah, just noticed you’re not in the United States where the cameras are mandated by law.
