Default 991.1 3.4L IPD Plenum, where to get one by next week?

Hi all,

Would anyone know where i can get an IPD plenum by next week?
I called IPD and best case scenario i will get it sometime second week of June.
My car is going in for some service and getting heat shield TSB done, since they are going to be in there already, the dealer is giving me a decent price for Plenum install.
I keep contacting vendors and they seem to be just doing drop-ship from IPD

Anyone knows who may actually have one in stock?

Talk to BBi? They're always posting results regarding the IPD Plenum, I'm sure they'd have a good bearings on sourcing one.

I thought I saw one in the marketplace here on rennlist. Also try ebay.

However, you might want to do a search here about IPD Plenums before you pull the trigger...

Called BBi they are actualy in the same building as IPD and work together. So they would get them from IPD down the hall if anyone was purchasing one.
I guess im SOL. Will have to see if I can reschedule or jus go without one.

Thanks guys/gals

Why not just delay the Service and Heat Shield Workshop Campaign a few weeks instead?

If you insist on changing the plenum, Tile makes one that may even be better..

To the OP, I second the statement above to do a bit of searching on this forum for dyno results with reference to 991.1 cars so as to ensure you will receive the results you are after.

People that have them, love them. People with no experience with them, cry wolf.

And people who spend the time and money to dyno test them before and after have no love at all.
Multiple dyno tests have been performed and showed that in some rpm's the plenum added HP/torque and on other rpm's it decreased HP/torque.
The overall percentage of rpms where the plenum showed improvements was lower than stock. Thats a net loss.
In addition, the IPD plenum is the exact same part made for the turbo engines, it is not specific or designed for the 3.0 liter engines, again not for me.

Dont poke the bear, I was trying to let the OP make his own decisions without interference but, when you quote me in your response I'm gonna respond..

Ouch, i did not mean to turn it in to another Plenum thread. My apologies everyone.
I got a hefty discount on all work if performed before end of the month from my dealer so i tried to rush and get it in. Since a heat shield TSB is taking apart most of whats needed to get to the plenum, half the time was already paid for so i wanted to slap Plenum in there and get a discount on the work.

I am fully aware of the disputed benefits of this "upgrade". It started back in 997.1 days and all same augments were made. I still did it and personally i enjoyed it. I'm sure it did not add any significant power but mid range driving experience changed to my liking and it was worth the money to me.
The only reason i am considering doing it is because im getting a very good price on the work, and im one of those people that unless there is solid undisputed proof, i have to try it for my self and see if my but-o-meter likes it. That's all that matters to me. I don't race people on streets and i don't try to get best lap times.
Unfortunately the only solid dyno charts i can find is from 997.2 provided by IPD. i have not been able to see anyone posting dyno results of this mod on 991.1 N/A. If anyone can point me to them, i would be extremely grateful. perhaps my search skills aren't great.

I had a 981/991 IPD plenum for sale in Marketplace last month, replaced it with the Clubsport intake;
https://rennlist.com/forums/gt4/9321...l#post16513170

Alternatively one could use the 991.1S plenum.

BGB uses the IPD in their upgrade packages;

Dundon did some dynamometer tests;
https://rennlist.com/forums/gt4/1062...l#post15261124

...then they developed their own intake;

Well,

I heard of dealerships being nice to their customers and people having good experiences but it has never happened to me, till now.
They will do all the maintenance and TSBs now and if i bring the car in to install plenum later in June they will honor same price as if they are doing it part of TSB and will honor the 25% discount (which ends 5/31) on top of it.
So i guess this thread turned out to be pointless But it gave you guys something to read i guess, so not total loss

@d00d Thanks for the links, good read.

Save your money for new tires and a proper alignment which will give you more smiles per mile than a new plenum which does absolutely jack squat and may actually take you backwards in terms of performance.
