I received an email from Cobb tech support stating that Stage 2 93 is ok if you have PSE. No other mods necessary.

There you go Darwin, and high flow cats are not even needed on the GTS but if someone is running a tune on a GTS they should have high flow cats for at least the improved sound, and additional flow.

Thanks-I agree with the stock filter being more than capable. The way I see it-I DIY a lot on the car and taking off the bumper once a year/ever other year is inevitable for me. While it’s off I would clean and re-oil. Filters should
last a while based on the recommended service interval but based on my Gt4-that thing was FILTHY long before the recommended service interval when I changed it @8k miles ...curious to see how mine will look on the t at 13k. I do agree that any type of high flow filter for this car is way overpriced @$300. Should not be more than $100 imo based on every other filter I have bought in the past. It makes changing the oem one @$55 a pop real enticing.

I’m interested in doing a stage 1 93 at some point this Spring, but if I add something later like a Soul cat back (non PSE car), can I leave the stock air filter and/or will I have to change anything with the tune?
I’m happy with the car now, but a little “more of the same” for under $2k sounds enticing.

I saw this as well. However, before COBB watered down their tunes a bit, the requirements on their website used state high flow cats/cat bypass and high flow air filter (didn't say "stock"). Btw, let's not get your panties in a wad over whether the stock air filter is high flow or not. The horsey is RIP.

The only thing that matters is what is on their web site now - why would one go by old/outdated information? And based on Post #100 it seems you are the one with problem panties.

Hey Bob, I admit that I didn't have the latest information and for that, my bad.I guess you weren't in the Naval aviator's club as one needs thick skin to survive the flying community in any service. Peace brotha. Let us know your thoughts on the tune.

The Porsche warranty issue is one I've been concerned with. Some dealers don't care if the car's been flashed in honoring warranty work, some do. I've spoken with both types. I've purchased the Cobb AP and plan to install it - it's just a question of when - before warranty is out or after. My dealer says it won't invalidate the warranty in total. Only if they (PCNA) could attribute a major warranty claim (engine or PDK) to the software would they not honor the warranty. Anything else that breaks would still be covered without question. BUT, if it's a big ticket item as I mentioned, then it would have to go to the folks at PCNA. I think we all know where they would come down on it - NO warranty coverage. If anyone has had other experiences where they've successfully argued and gained warranty coverage for a major component after a tune, please chime in.

Over the years of reading forum posts on this subject, I've learned the following: If the dealer is in Porsche NA's pocket there's a snowballs chance in hell that a claim denial will be reversed. If however the dealer is an advocate for their customers there's a pretty good chance your warranty claim will get honored. Of course if there is a direct link that an issue is caused by a tune - you lose.

I finally got the car out today since it was beautiful: sunny & low humidity and while a little cool at 70 it was still nice with the top down. I plan to run the Stage 1 tune for about 500 miles and on it today I drove about 40 miles. I was satisfied with how the car ran albeit the acceleration in 1st (I have a manual) was not as brisk as I expected but my wife could tell it was faster in the other gears, as could I. Not much to really say since we all experience things a little differently and since I have not run any other tunes I cannot compare it anything but for the money paid I consider it worth while, especially since it only took about 20 minutes to load and I can go back to stock (or Stage 2) just as easily without having to take it anywhere.

Unfortunately Bobs review does not inspire me to make the move at this time. Hoping to hear others chime in especially with PDKs
