Luckily - Ive never had to deal with this type of stuff ...
The insurance company (other drivers not mine) will make me an offer for to compensate me for my car that was written-off.

Since a 2013 is off the signification depreciation curve and you've owned the car for only four months, you should get just about what you paid for it or at worse a couple percent less. Car damage settlements are no big deal for Insurance companies. What they sweat out is personal injury and pain and suffering claims. Just a guess but I expect that GEICO will write you a check for what you paid for your car.

You just bought the car so this should be simple. They have the basis of value.

if they want to argue depreciation of .xx cents per mile for a few months so be it .

Sorry to see this. Had an unlicensed and uninsured kid hit my 2014 TTS last September. Got my car back repaired in May. I am STILL fighting with my insurance. My guess is they total yours, which will be a better outcome. Good luck.

Uninsured kid - that sounds like a nightmare sorry you are having to deal with that.

Yes I was told yesterday mine is totaled which I guess is the best thing, but I loved that car, thought I’d keep it for years, and now I have to find another good car at a good price, which isn’t easy.

Sorry that your car was wrecked. When it happened to me, it hit me harder emotionally than it should have.

I hope the process for getting fair value goes well and that you will be back in another 911 in no time!

Exactly! I keep telling myself’ nobody was hurt, it’s just a car’ etc. etc., but see it yesterday was very sad...especially as it looks perfect from the driver’s side...

I understand....same thing happened to me. My first 911(Guards Red), waited years for it and it was PERFECT....Just be patient and another one will show up. It took me about 2 months and i jumped at a car that I shouldnt have (night blue). Owned it for 7 months when the perfect car(Guards red) showed up so I traded. I'm thrilled again. I was looking for low km CPO so I followed Porsche preowned website that tracks all cars in Canada on Dealer lots. Be patient.

SR5959, you are with State Farm, right? I think you should call, and lean, on your agent for advice/direction and help in negotiating with Geico regarding the salvage value.

Sorry to hear of your bad luck, but--Is that a black/platinum interior? I need some bits and pieces out of one to finish up my conversion from a standard platinum interior.

The insurance company is not going to let him part out the car, unless he buys it back of course.

The sad part is that this car seems to have pretty minor damage assuming the frame is ok. It will be saved by someone and put back on the road.

The 4 airbags and insanely expensive parts are what cause these cars to be totaled. Also the diminished value claims the insurance companies get hit with (rightfully so) push things into total loss.

I think this case worked out best for the OP but end of the day it sucks that more and more accidents end up in total loss territory.

Yes I am, but the other guy didn’t have enough coverage to fully pay so SF have now taken over the claim. They will pay me and then claim up to the max liability from Geico. Unfortunately think this will delay things as now SF want to have their guy check it and confirm it’s not repairable.
