This thread is a good learning tool, and illustrates that a smart, articulate, persistent person can go up against the large insurance entity, and have a successful outcome. Knowledge is power. Happy for sr5959.

Thanks Lex, going through a big accident like this is not fun, but I really appreciate help and advice from you and other Rennlisters in dealing with it. Very glad I started this thread!

For anybody else who has this misfortune I will be happy to give any advice I can as I learned a lot in this process.

Default How about this Disaster this week

Hi All,
similar accident - all ok, I was tboned by a Hyundai Sonata doing about 35. No airbags deployed in my baby but the Hyundai did.
hit me square in the A-pillar, wheel pushed up, all driving electronics issuing warnings/ failures, looks like windscreen is shifted, wing pushed up and door out, wheel considerably pushed in, let me know your thoughts.
appraiser is going out Tuesday, actually hoping it can be fixed but someone has said with graphite blue May need a Re spray?
thanks in advance.

If the front tub and suspension bits are bent, it’ll be totaled.

If there’s one near you, make sure you get it evaluated it at a certified Porsche collision center. Hopefully it’s totaled.
also there’s a great RL string about a minor impact that turned into a $40,000 repair job.

good luck

I think I would always hope for a car to be totaled if in an accident...

I am in the same boat, and your looks very close to being totaled. I would be surprised if it isn't. Doesn't take much.
Glad you are OK

Yeah, looks like just respray and a buff will take care of all the damage, and you'll be good to go! /sarc

(Definitely totalled.)

It's a shame to see all these nice cars being destroyed by other drivers who are probably driving distracted, with probably the minimum coverage ($10k).
