New 991 Guide
Hi fellow Rennlisters’ following on from our well received (click) and (click) guides (which feature input from Rennlist members) we have just launched a new book covering the 991 series in detail.
Over a year in the making it’s packed full with details on all aspects of these fabulous cars and covers both gen-1 and gen-2, all models (from Carrera through to GT2). It’s one of the first comprehensive 991 guides available.
Designed to be an interesting immersive read for existing owners and also ideal and incredibly useful for new buyers’, the guide is packed full with high quality images alongside all the detail you could possibly need.
Although the guide is laid out and reads like a printed book, we have moved to using the Kindle App only, so you can download a copy instantly worldwide and Kindle is compatible with all devices (Apple, Android or PC). The other benefit of the Kindle format is you can - zoom into images (or text) for extra detail - search the entire book for keywords (ie PASM, PDK) and it will list all references for easy navigation - you can bookmark pages - It’s also possible to make notes on each page if you want, and more! You can the first few pages and can also download the sample pages for free to see how it looks on your device.
Thanks in anticipation of your support
, the book is written by an enthusiast for fellow enthusiasts and is born from forums like the Rennlist community. You can take a closer look at the 991 book (USA Amazon link, but it's available in all countries) and the guide is currently available at a reduced price launch offer.

Very cool, but you should also have an option for those that wanna produce a hard copy. I’d much rather have a hard copy.
Many options out there for you, would almost be a seamless transaction. I could put you in touch with someone that has a company doing this exact thing right now, doubt it would cost you anything.
pM me if interested.

Hi Niez66, thanks for your kind reply. We are currently keeping our range of titles on Kindle only as the guides works brilliantly in that format and it is available for instant download. Most people have a tablet of some form these days, so it just as portable as a printed book with plenty of other advantages, book buyers are also very keen on fast delivery these days, so the ability get the guide straight away has proved appealing.
Thanks again for your offer

Hi GR997S, cheers for the feedback, the guide is currently Kindle only. Our other titles have been well received in this format, with many prefering it once they have tried it. I hope this doesn't put you off as it is an enjoyable and informative read. Why not give the free download sample pages a try and see how you get on, your support is appreciated

Thanks for giving the Kindle version a try, we do get the desire for a hardcopy but there definitely won’t be one in the near future. The specialist Porsche titles aren’t big volume sellers, in honesty they are very much a labour of love as you never get a return on the time spent putting them together. Having been down the printed book route you either end up with a silly high cover price or print enough to fill a warehouse and don’t update the guide for years. With Kindle we can also update quickly as any new issues or information becomes available, so it is another advantage of the format.
Anyway I’ll get ready for the next hardcopy post,
while hoping you guys will give the Kindle version a go
LOL With PCM4 in the gen-2 991 you now have full connectivity including Apple Carplay, Google Maps and Porsche Connect, so time to start enjoying the joys of technology in all its forms, and yes my tablet does join me in the "reading room" each morning
. Anway a big thankyou to those of you that are giving it a try
, for the few dollars involved it's a bargain IMO.. but I am slightly biased
.
I haven’t bought a hard copy book in years. I carry an entire wing of a library in my tablet and phone. I fly an airliner across the globe without a single piece of paper in the cockpit. I’ve cancelled most of my magazine subscriptions...the ones I’ve kept are preferred as electronic versions.
Understanding your well thought out reasoning, I—for one—appreciate your “Kindle only” decision, and will be ordering my copy as soon as I leave this *electronic* site in a few minutes.

thankyou......Joking aside thanks very much for your post, I appreciate viewing on a tablet isn't everyones bag but it works very well. I personally used to be a hardcopy only guy, now I'm like you and pop all my reference in one place (my iPad), for easy access and a more flexible read.
I'd be very happy to support your efforts if there was a book available, this looks very well put together!
Items like this have an additional experience enhancement by being able to hold a book, turn pages, etc. Speaking for myself, and I'm sure others, many of us have careers which involve us staring at a screens (laptops, phones, etc.)... I think you might be ignoring a significant portion of your potential audience by viewing this as an item of reference, rather than enjoyment. People are willing to contribute more capital to your efforts in spite of increased costs if you consider their requests into your production decisions (and price accordingly).
