Austin Porsche quoted 2-1/2 hours of labor!
I was having some service done anyway and thought I’d have them do the install. They quoted 2-1/2 hours, total price with a discount $450 😳
I guess I’ll do it myself.

Just put the .2 version on my GTS last night. Super easy install, plugs are the hardest part to pop out.
I think I may have figured out a way to get rid of the gap without using caulk. Stay tuned...

Keep us up to date. I was going to try to figure it out too - If I press hard enough it lines up so its got to the possible.

definitely let us know. I ordered the caulk but if there’s an easy way to actually make the side skirt itself fit better I’d prefer that

Basically what we're gonna do is drill a pilot hole just next to that one plastic pin that isn't reaching. Use a small sheet metal screw to drill thru the skirt and frame to attach it to the car, just like the pin is supposed to be doing.
Then get a 3/4" plug to fill the pilot hole. Should suck that skirt up against the car like it's supposed to be.

Well, I'm not gonna say it's easier. But I think (for me) it's preferable to using caulk.

Pics when you decide to do it - never thought of this as a solution, but definitely doable

**Update: Our method won't work, unfortunately. We thought it was an issue with that last pin not sucking up. But once we got the pic attached, there is still a gap where it's just wider than the body. Bummer. Really hope I wouldn't have to use caulk, but it seems there's really no way around it.

Not overthinking. Just wanting to avoid it if possible. I ended up using it and it's fine. Would have preferred not to use it, but it is what it is. Just seems a bit hokey to have to use it for a part that's advertised as a "direct fit." Clearly it isn't.
