Srsly. I Just went out to the garage to remind myself how pitiful this thing looks.

Got mine from Suncoast and I love it. Only Rennlisters (like us) would have a problem with it.

I saw it on a GT3 Touring build sheet, and I feel like if it’s good enough for the GT3 it’s good enough for my C2S. Makes me smile every time I pop the gas door.

So is it too cheap or too expensive? From this thread it seems like both? Some don’t like the look, and some think it’s too expensive - so we should get a Chinese knock off? 😂

Just received my Chinese OEM gas cap, ordered on EBay, $65, delivered 12 days after purchase. Looks like they are Porsche’s supplier, the box has the factory bar code and part #, covered with a blank label that you can see under, and inside there is a Porsche insert. Cap also included a new tether.

Don't underestimate China's ability to knock a product off. They go the extra mile. It's "fake" 100%.

I dont think they are fake. Although i know some good "fake" stuff can come out of china, it's likely one of the products Porsche outsources to China to make. They have been on ebay for a long time and ebay is very hardcore about counterfeit products. Suncoast has the alum look ones for $99 now, so paying $65-$75 on ebay isnt far off. I would bet any "differences" between some from a Porsche dealership and the ebay China units can be attributed to variations over the years/ different factories.

It’s fake. The real caps are made in Germany. Suncoast is moving new old stock at a discount because of the new cap.

I see counterfeit stuff on eBay constantly.

thanks for the article link. That’s crazy. I thought they were more on top of it. And the $99 was for a 993 not the 991. FML. I was wrong!
