Does this seem like unreasonable wear for the seats on a car with only 13400 miles?

it seems unusual to prep a car and have discoloration like that. I suspect they tried to address this and couldn’t. There are strong leather cleaners that will take care of dye transfers but if the clear coat and underlying color coat have been worn through, then maybe the typical leather cleaners could not clean this up.

Colourlock makes a whole product line with OEM color matches. Repairs look fairly easy. Get your eyes on the car and decide for yourself. You will never see paint chips and other scratches just from photos.

It looks like the previous owner might been a bit hefty and wore course fabric like a wool jacket. I have seen wear like it before.

I messaged the salesman, he said that seat issue has already been fixed. I should get some updated pictures tomorrow.

Might want to look closely at drivers door panel. In photo 16 it appears the door panel may be starting to warp and that’s a $2-3k repair depending on the dealer. Checkout the door paneling warping thread for more info.

Good catch.

seems like both seats have quite a bit of staining on them. Sounds like they have sorted it out but why photograph a car just to show that it has issues with the leather seats.

Are you referring to this gap on the edge of the door panel?

No, that’s not the “warped door panel” being referred to. Check out the link below for better pics.

In that link, there’s so much glare, I can’t really tell what I’m looking at. Is it a gap between the leather door material and where it adjoins the window? In the attached picture, I’m not seeing anything in the area where the little bit of window is sticking up, but not sure if I’m looking at the right spot.

yes there should not be any gap at the top where the alarm light is.

Default PPI Results

Well, here’s the PPI news, appreciate any guidance...

They indeed confirmed that both door panels have early signs of warping/lifting.

Each header has a large dent in one runner.

The tires are the originals from 2014. Not much wear, but replacement was recommended.

Scratches noted on the back of driver seat.

Driver seat bolster looked like it was fixed well.

Seats/interior not obviously stained or dirty.

Overall, I’m very glad I got the PPI done. Still digesting what to do with the information. Thoughts?

At this point personally I would not take this car. That’s a lot of stuff to fix...

What do you think about the tires thing? Good tread, but replace because they’re from 2014?

And the Header? Unclear that it’s causing trouble. No faults, etc. but I wonder if it will crack/rust when exposed to snowy conditions. I’d be inclined to replace it. Even if I go with an after market header, they’re pretty pricey. Like $4k?
