I have a 2015 991 that may have the beginnings of the door panel issue I've seen others complain about where the top section begins to warp or lift up. Does anyone have pictures of what it looks like when it's bad enough to warrant a warranty replacement?
quite a few on the other threads.... Look for door panels in the search, the middle of the panel lifts enought that you can see a gap from outside the car !
Yikes, that's terrible. Makes me glad I tinted my front windows, it should prevent the heat from warping the panel...assuming that's the root cause of course.
I'll probably discuss mine 2014 with the dealership when I bring it in for next oil change as I notice both doors doing this now, more so on the passenger side.
Does anyone know if Porsche has identified/implemented a *permanent* fix for this problem? Seems like a time-bomb for owners wishing to keep their cars > 4-6 years.
I am also interested in learning if there is an actual updated part for this or if they are just planning to replace the panels with the exact same ones so that they can warp again within the next few years.

Since the dealer does it, I don't think anybody knows for sure but I suspect it's the same part, just never exposed to sun or whatever causes the glue to fail or the panel to warp (I don't even know which it is).
What I can tell you is the dealer replaced mine under 80% goodwill and the new(?) part # is 991-555-903-00-DK4 for one side, 904 instead of 903 for the other side. If you wanna pull your warped panel and compare part #s, we will know for sure ;-)
As things stand the replacement is good for 2 years parts and labor - I'm fairly sure I see mine is starting to do it again. Nowhere near as bad (5%) but the middle is slightly higher than the edges... I think eventually it'll be a known 991 issue resolved with ingenuity of aftermarket vendors or uphosltery shops... Thnose panels are expensive as hell to repair outside of warranty or goodwill !
My 2015 (built in Dec 2014) just had the drivers side replaced about 7 weeks ago....the passenger side is being shipped in from Germany with no ETA. The SA said that the new door panels are of a new "version", hence the back order and wait from Germany. So....maybe it's BS regarding the new version, or there is a new version. Time will tell.....literally!
What is "normal" for the non-leather door panels? Is there supposed to be a slight bit of play in the middle of the panel or is supposed to be completely flush and tight with the door? I had the panels replaced in my prior 991 and the replacement panels still had some play in the middle section. My current 991 is the same with a little play in the middle and it is a little higher but does not seem to be a problem...
Did not see this with my 2015 C2S built Oct 2014, but it had full leather, 70% ceramic nano tint on all windows, and was not parked outside in the sun daily.

There is absolutely no "play" in the standard (non-leather) panels in my 2018 Carrera T delivered in March.
Hope this would help someone in this issue. Porsche NA said no goodwill repair, claimed that the quality is the best, and dealer offered $4000 estimate to fix both doors. I thought in no situation this should happened, and in no situation they should be profited from quality issue. I fixed this myself on both doors, cost half tube of windshield adhesive <$20.
