Based on conversations I’ve had with people this seems like something I should look into. I want to get a little more out of my exhaust as I don’t have PSE on my car. The thing is my wife does not like loud and I don’t like drone. I go back and forth as to doing anything exhaust wise. I’ve read this thread and listened to all the videos but can’t get a feel for how loud this gets as I’m listening through an iPad speaker. Maybe I should keep doing research as to if/what I’m going to do.

you could do that (keep doing research) or you could find someone in your area that has a Soul exhaust and go listen to it....

I shot you over a PM Jack. We'll discuss the characteristics of this exhaust in more depth, it should meet all your goals with comfort and excitement.

I've had the Soul valved exhaust (along with the sport cats and headers) on mine for about 3 months and absolutely love it. It really is the best of both worlds: reasonably loud and throaty when you want and stock exhaust quiet when you want with the push of a button. I mostly leave the valve open because I enjoy hearing the engine during spirited driving, but around town or when my wife accompanies me, I close the valve for a very sedate exhaust note. Recommend you go hear it for yourself, although I bought mine based on web reviews and videos without ever hearing it live. Hearing it live for the first time I started my car after the exhaust install put a smile on my face that hasn't stopped yet.

I just got mine back from the dealer who installed the exhaust and body shop who did some cosmetic upgrades for me....so I have some feedback to share and will likely start a new thread for everyone with photos.

I started off with the sport cats and long tube header combo. The sound definitely was better and at the higher rpms you will hear it a lot more - the pops and crackles were louder also. But it was missing the louder and more intense sound that this car really deserves. I started asking myself if the exhaust would make sense since i was afraid of drone and it being so loud that it would scare other drivers (My GT350R was that loud sometimes).

Well - after a few scotches i ordered it from John who is great and all i can say is woooow!!

The car really is awake and the sound is awesome. This is the best of both worlds that you want *(what i wanted). Loud as heck when i want to be driving with windows down and enjoying a spirited drive and quiet just as before when i want to be on my phone and not hear it.

Don’t get me wrong - its louder than before. The people at Porsche who installed it all had smiles on their faces when I went to pick it up and they all raved how much better it sounded. They could not wait for me to drive it and hear. The service manager even came outside and revved it a few times as he thought it was extremely clean and aggressive. They were the ones that installed the sport cats and no one at that time there was that excited when I picked it up - they said it sounded better and deeper but was not that loud. This time (exhaust now installed), all the guys who were around it were commenting how much better it was.

It looks sooo much better under there. Shaved some weight i am sure but mostly it just looks great.

Here is the best part and I mean the best part. I had the valves open and was going hard at it but then i was worried for a sec - i thought i really hope the valves and cut this down as my wife will freaking kill me. So i hit the valves and it was like the exhaust was not even there. NIGHT AND DAY difference. The example here is with the PSE exhaust there is a small difference but its not night and day. When you hit 3500 rpm and the valves open it does not really even matter anyways....But I will tell you the valves work so much better now its funny. I hear road and tire noise just like i did before over the exhaust when its shut off and i was on the phone speaker blue tooth on the highway without any problems. Driving 80mph and going back and forth from 70-90. There to me was no drone and it sounded great.

I then opened the sunroof and turned on the valves to listen to the awesomeness again and could not believe how much better i felt that i got this done.

SO in short. Do it! The sound is great when you want it and its loud like you always wanted but when you want it! Its quiet when you need it to be or need a break from it.

Thanks so much for chiming in with your feedback, I'm happy to see you've been thoroughly enjoying both aspects of the mild and wild experience this system offers. Driving our development car for the marketing videos is still one of the best street driven experiences I've had in a 911 to date. While we have made a lot of progress on the 991.2 platform, that 3.0TT still doesn't quite do it for me like the NA Flat Six does on the 991.1 haha.

Warren working with you has been some of the most fun I've had in this business. You're a true enthusiast, and I've been quite thrilled to be a part of the build on your car, which has turned out GREAT by the way (check out his build here). I appreciate your willingness and trust to work with me coming up with the ideal exhaust configuration to meet your goals. That phone call with you laughing as you drove the car for the first time after the valved exhaust install was priceless, and is the motivation that drives me every day. Thanks for your time, your business and the amazing feedback

Every dealer is different. Some dealers install our components with HJS HD 200 cell catalytic converters, and some strictly will not. We recommend contacting your Porsche dealer to get their word for it - as it is theirs that matters.

Here's a video featuring our Valved Exhaust + Long Tube Catted Street Headers:
