991.1 GTS modified with PICS
Well I got my car back a few days ago and it’s been a journey.
Since I purchased it I have dropped a lot of coin just to make it cosmetically perfect and also to service all parts that needed it. Picked up this GTS locally with 15k miles on it - 2016.
I was immediately drawn to the ducktail which is one of my favorite options but I felt that it needed more in the front to counterbalance the aggressive look in the rear. So the journey starts!
Day one...
1. Full ceramic tint including windshield
2. New rotors and pads and brake flush
3. New tires (Michelin 4s -315’s in rear and 245’s in front)
4. 20k service completed
5. Full detail in and out
6. Painted key, rubber mats, new rear logo, gas cap aluminum and a ton of Porsche stuff for me and family.
Day 15
1. Soul performance sport cats and headers
2. Zunsport radiator protectors
3. Fidelity warranty 3 years
Day 30
1. New front lip and side canards (gt3 look)
2. Repainted front bumper due to rock chips
3. Rear diffuser
4. Soul performance valved exhaust version 2
5. Repainted roof around sunroof as they also have rock chips on them and scratches
Day 35
1. Drive the heck out of it and enjoy it!
I can tell you that without a doubt the exhaust has really helped me enjoy my car. The sound is so aggressive and amazing but it can be literally shut off and whisper quiet when I hit the PSE button. I can take a call and be on high way and zero drone and no noise.
I had a cop swing in behind me last night after a few 10 to 60 rips around town and I hit the button to shut it off and waited for the inevitable ticket - he left me alone.
The last few items to be done:
1. New windshield - have ordered already
2. Ceramic coat and ppf front
3. Tune - haven’t decided which one
4. Update my private tag for a Porsche themed one
5. Maybe some new step lip wheels - would like more offset
My GTS sounds like a angry GT3 and looks just as mean but is comfy (18 way seats) and is quiet with the windows up. Absolutely love it!!
Here are some pics:
Almost done - finishing roof
First time I get to see the rear diffuser!
Cleaned up
Will have to be careful on driveways!!
Love the widebody hips

Beautiful GTS - ducktail really compliment the tail section.
Could you provide more details on the rear diffuser? who make them and where you did you get it? Was it glue-on or bolt down? How far does it extend into the back of the engine?

Love it, but I am partial to the ducktail. They need to bring it back for more than 3 years!

The diffuser.
I bought off eBay but it wasn’t my first one. The cheap ones did not fit and was a huge waste of money.
I found one by NR automotive which retail was similar to the original Vortsiener one that was discontinued.
Mine goes up to the metal plate under engine. It has brackets to hold it closest to that skid plate and clips into areas that the stock one does. Feels secure.
looks functional and it’s aggressive looking.

Looks good overall, but I'm not feeling the vertical portion of your front splitter (the section that goes partially up the wheel well). Gives it a mini snow plow vibe.

Damn Wizo, your mods are simply awesome! One of the best looking 991 I have seen. Aggressive but not over the top.
Diffuser - so you bought a couple of diffusers form China that did not work out. Did you return them, sell them, just toss them? Feel bad for you if you had to throw money away like that.
Asking because I was thinking of taking a chance on the China ones from AliExpress, etc. They are not cheap but still half the vorsteiner ones and look great in the photos. But what you see may not be what you get. Just looking for advice and feedback.
Thanks.
