Another Nick Murray Lemon?
Sure seemed like there was something loose or shorting when the car would die if he hit a big bump. Also does look suspicious that he had the aftermarket stuff installed. I wonder if Porsche would have bought the car back if Murray did not have a big internet presence. Yeah he was very patient with all the issues, but some of that had to be not burning bridges with Porsche. He was a nice internet thing going and I find it very entertaining, and ranting about problems probably would not help. Glad he did not gloss over that stuff though and was honest about all the issues.
I thought we were discussing a car but not a house.
Please notice that Nick has not responded to this discussion. I agree with Nick. I have dealt with too many anonymous Rennlisters who wish to make a repulsive insulting comment rather than being kind or constructive. Can you provide a constructive useful response? Based on the contributions to this I have found none.
Nick has issues which may affect all of us. He has given the details. Why should he be condemned with his truthful revelations? All you experts should just respond kindly.
I have purchased all my Porsches new from PCNA at the respective dealers. My first in 1974 was a 914, 2 liter which I kept for 13 years but was a WEEKLY aggravation. I replaced fuel injectors monthly but their cost rose weekly.
I was about to replace the FI with carbs in 1987 when a guy on a local highway wanted the car. He paid me cash and never heard from him again.
Please be kind if you can summon it.

And yes he has posted in this thread.
Actually, this whole thread is only going to Help Nick.
YT pays him by minutes watched.
So, anyone coming across this thread that doesn't know him
and starts watching his vids to get caught up, will just put
more $ in Nicks pocket from YT.
Good for him!! I hope he continues on. I like his content.
Quirky and Fun.

Nothing wrong with a healthy dose of skepticism. Two consecutive lemon 911 with electrical problems? I guess anything can happen. Whole thing is just weird.
He says it is a million dollar house but there is reason to be skeptical of a smallish, non brick/stone, and front facing garage on a small lot. No evidence of it being a gated community.

Very unfortunate that he is having Porsche buy the car back, but I would do the exact same thing if I was him. I would agree though with others in here, that considering this is the second car with basically the same issues, that radar detector and dash cam setup may be causing some issues. I am guessing they are not just getting the power fro some add a circuits in the fuse box and instead are getting it out of a main harness. However, I am sure Porsche has looked into this and I am sure they would not be buying the car back if that was the case.
@Mechanic Thank you!
As an engineer and long time Pcar owner (only one 928, way back when), I have serious doubts about the integrity of his car's OEM harness and components after the detector/jammer/camera installs. Answers (not necessarily from you) to a couple of questions would be a big help. Did the same installer do both jobs? Would you have approached the installs early on in the diagnosis? Why would PCNA NOT want to understand the quality, integrity, and performance of the added electronics, and any impact on the car's many faults? Seems like they often take a hard line on lesser issues (i.e. exploding door cards on 991.1, early, unexplained PDK failures, etc.). Why not in this case?
I love Nick's videos, and feel he is a Porsche fan, but it seems that Porsche the brand, and the car are getting a bum wrap with some potentially explosive evidence right in front of their eyes. Ocam's Razor indeed?? As the title of my post says, "care to comment"?

I doubt any of the trolling on this thread will trigger a response from him (although I do really enjoy his videos where he responds to YT trolls, they are always witty and well done). I was watching his videos before I bought my first 911 and appreciate all the work he puts into them. Anyway, good luck to Nick - love him or hate him he's been a class act the whole time with both of his lemon 911's.
Nick is awesome! He has my full support, love his channel and his Porsche/car content
Far more entertaining and digestible than many of the younger kids' car review videos on YT with EDM music blasting or conversely I can only watch so many videos starting with "hi guys Im shmee!!"
I only hope selfishly he gets a 992 or another 911 so he can keep making videos I'm interested in viewing, don't care too much for his helicopter or house stuff

We'll probably never know for sure, but I have a hard time thinking the issues are Nick's fault. He runs his gear in other cars that aren't even his own and I haven't heard of any similar issues. He has his gear in the loaner Boxster/Cayman video earlier in this very thread, and that car seems fine. For all I know his gear runs on batteries. (Nick, care to clarify?)

I have been watching Nick since when he had his first 991.1. I genuinely enjoy his content, it brings some enjoyment to my day.
