Does anyone know the average amount the dealer "has in the car" (non GT)?
I was led to believe the dealer has about 10% in the car but apparently that's BS if they are giving 11% off as claimed.

I really don’t know since I have never asked, but I know it’s at least 11% since I am sure he is not pricing to lose money....nor would I allow him to do that. I am sure there are others on this site that either own a dealership or are in a position to truly know. Either way 1% makes very little difference in my opinion.

I called every dealer within 200 miles of San Francisco just before Christmas and found only two who were able to confirm a 991.2 GTS allocation. I picked up one of these with a 2% discount and April delivery date. Could I have held out for a better discount? Maybe. Am I happy to have a car in the pipeline? Absolutely.

Discount is going to be contingent on how you spec. If you add a lot in options, the dealer will give you a higher % off. Production will likely also be contingent on demand. I take allocation #s with a grain of salt. If a dealer has customer orders, Porsche will likely release an allocation to fill the order so long as the dealer’s sales have been solid.

Totally agree with this. You should not spend one second thinking about whether you could or could not have gotten a different discount and instead you should continue to be happy that you got the car at a price you are content with.
