I recommend emailing the 3 or 4 dealers closest to you. In your email, you should state the MSRP of your specific configuration and the price your are willing to pay for said car (do the math for your target discount percentage). Make it clear you are ready to pull the trigger if they can accommodate your needs.

It took me a month of emailing around and talking to different dealers to get the deal I got. Don’t expect to walk in and get a good deal.

despite how much I personally dislike the 992, i do think a lot of people outside of this forum r stoked about it, and people would definitely grow to like it overtime like a lot of new 911 releases we have seen

All I was saying is that discounts may not be what they used to be but one still needs to pursue the best deal. I talked to 8 dealers before I ordered my car and I told them all I was doing so and my best deal was the dealer that was 200 miles away, which saved me about $2500 as compared to the next best deal.

Regardless of what discount you get, you can thank me for making your life easier. I had been hanging out to buy a 991.2 GTS in December since I usually order my cars in Dec. Took one look at the 992 and decided to hold off for the 992. So no matter how many allocations there really are you have one more now. You’re welcome.

Don't let the forum door hit on your way to the 992 forums.

Sounds like a dealer/SA trying to sell what he has now before the 992 starts to hit the shores. They will change their tune once the first 992 arrives.

Sales 101.

991.2 GTS allocations will be available through summer 2019. It will be produced a little while longer than base 991.2/S/4S allocations.

Turbos and Targas will be produced throughout all of 2019.

Hope this helps with your decisions.

No one can be surprised by this. Maybe the best motivator to buy a 991.2 is to see the 992!

Thanks alot for the info. I thought 991.2 GTS production was going to end soon. some ppl mentioned only a dozen allocations left in the whole country.

From my perspective I am glad I dont like the 992. If history is to repeat itself, in what 6 years or so they will introduce the 993 or whatever they will call it.
At that point I will probably be ready to let my 991.2 GTS Targa go and make the switch. The 992 is not for me. They will sell as many as they can produce, but I think its only because the 911 has been so popular since its inception and new buyers are always stepping up. Clearly the looks aren't for everyone and all of the "negatives" have already been addressed...

It sure as heck won’t be called the 993.

Yeah, 993 have already come and gone.

And congrats to Levi for getting the Targa GTS allocation I told him about.
