So if anyone is looking to "lunatic" themselves up...there is a 2017 Targa 4 GTS (PTS in Mahogany @ Porsche of Arlington)...FWIW, it has 3 pedals...so, you might forget about that extra weight...
I couldn't be happier with my Targa 4 GTS...All around awesome car. And I might know a thing or two about performance...

Be careful Wes, mentioning a manual, even indirectly, might cause someone with a PDK to take offense.

I originally wanted to get a Targa but it was out of my leasing price range. It seems with the top down and windows up, it would be a great highway cruiser... open sky without the road noise. In the DC area, that's huge. Having never been in one, I don't know how it compares to a convertible. I've had many convertibles (11).
I am still hoping to have the winning ticket in the PCA GTS Targa drawing.

I don't understand how some can drive the same car with different results. We took an extended test drive and neither of us had any wind noise with the top down and windows up and we took it over 70 several times. My only guess is that seating position and driver's torso height come into play. And don't forget about the 2 position windstop on the windshield header, which also matters.

My only wish for it would be to have SPASM. There's a Motoman YouTube video with the Targa program manager and apparently the reason they don't offer that is because of the warranty claims around creaks. Interesting to note, you can't get SPASM on a can either.

Tomayto, tomato. PDK vs manual. Normally aspirated vs turbos. Ginger vs MaryAnne. Hardtop vs softop. Centerlocks vs 5- lug.
Too windy or acceptable windy? Come on guys, move on.

the wind noise is equal to that of an open top car. What improves it is to drop the side windows down about an 1/8, and it quiets it down immensely. And wind is pretty much nonexistent. I find it funny when people ask me about it. In the end, it’s an open top car. Wind and wind noise are expected.
Anyway, still hoping for a winning PCA raffle ticket!

I actually questioned whether there was enough wind to justify it over the Cab since it was almost too still in the cockpit at times. But I have had a lot of verts in the past and a power targa top seems to be exactly what I was looking for. And I found out today my Targa GTS left Germany om 10/25 so it won't be long.
