Then how can it be legal everywhere other than the US? Speaking of the rear glass, does anyone know what % the glass is? I am thinking of getting the side windows tinted to match the sides as close as possible.

Do we know this to be true? I knew the one touch operation as well as operation via the key fob were standard in the ROW, but had never heard that operation while moving was.

according to my Sales Advisor, who is probably the absolute best resource when it comes to Porsche, yes. We had a discussion about it last week when he was dropping off my car from service.

My roof does creak over bumps. Some day I'll figure out how to open up the headliner to oil it. Till then it really doesn't bother me.

People that love Targa are the ones who own one which is the minority of 911 ownership. Let's be real, it looks hot but it sucks more than coupe in every other way and 10% extra weight is nothing to sneeze at for a car like this.

She had 20k on her when I bought her and she was creaking then.
The creak is from one of the roof skeleton joints. I would rather fix it myself than have someone else tear into it. A dab of grease will do the trick.

I have 2017 Fashion Grey Targa GTS and it is such a great car. I had a C4s coupe and loved it but I agree with others that this is the coolest looking model and the PTS combo gets A lot of compliments. I have been offered a few GT3T but my kids won't let me replace the Targa nor can I find a logical reason to. Targa for the win!!!!

funny that you mention the GT3 touring. Trying to see if I would be happy not having the targa, and replacing it with the touring. My answer is no. The GT3 touring will need to be an addition vs a replacement for the targa, I have found that most of the commentary re extra weight etc are those that haven’t driven them for an extended period of time. As I have said prior, PDCC make a world of difference on the targa. That higher center of gravity, ie. extra weight, gets dealt with via suspension, and corners on par with a coupe without pdcc.

Targas are less popular, by far, vis-a-vis other 911 models.

agree. It takes no time. And unlike those that say they won’t operate the SmartTop while moving, it is available from the factory in Europe to perform as such. It’s the US regulations that required us to not be able to operate the top via the key and to stay stationary during operation.
Ill continue to “roll” with it while dropping my top.

I have talked to several sales managers at large dealerships and was told that any model Targa is rare and it is the most sought after 911 besides the GT cars.......must be popular for a reason.

And you must own a Coupe since in no way does a Targa "suck" in any way.
