I can't remember - as I haven't driven much on the stock shifter. I already packed it and put it away

Based on feel I would say yes. There is a spring that pulls the stick back to the 3-N-4 position. You have to push against the spring to shift into 1-2 and 5-6.

Yes. The Carrera T shifter is exactly the same part number as the GT4 shifter.

I am also interested in the drive review.

Was this the standard, stronger spring or softer spring?

I believe its a little stiffer to stock. I drive the stock for 45miles only
and I haven’t driven on this yet, but soon

Hi Dan, I'd like to remove the screw to disable the spring on my shifter. Do you have a pic of the screw in question? Thanks!

Take out the bottom Screw.
Which spring do you have in it 1.5mm or 2mm. Don't know why you would want to disconnect it. It really makes the lever snap back to center.

Got it. I have one of the original ones so I'm guessing the 2mm screw? My understanding is disconnecting it the shifter will still go to center but the left-right will be less stiff? Thought I'd clarify first.

Yes it will have less tension moving left to right when you take the screw out. The transmission selector is still spring loaded so the tension will be the same as it was stock but possibly will wiggle left to right more without the added spring. The selector may wiggle a little before hitting the spring tension. I can swap them out to the softer spring which is equivalent to the tension of a Cayman GT4 shifter stock plastic shifter. It says I don't do it on the website anymore because it is difficult to change it out. Takes me up to an hour to swap them out. I didn't design them to be taken apart after they are built but I am able to but is timely. So I would be willing to do it for $45.00 and cover the shipping of course. If you'd like to send it in. Take the screw out and see how it feels for you. Putting a set of cables in the car really makes a dramatic improvement over the stock cables also. Below is demos videos of stock compared to Numeric Shifter and Cables. It has the 2mm spring installed.

Stock 2012 991 GTS Shifter and Cables.

Numeric Shifter and Cables installed in 2017 991 GTS

This is easily the best mod I've done with my car. You use the shifter constantly so just by that alone it's the most noticeable mod in my car. If you're unsure about this just know that it really is a big improvement and totally worth the extra coin.
