There are DIYs for the install and videos on Numeric’s YouTube account to get you to the point of seeing the spring. With a little bit of mechanical intuition you should see the proper screw and remove it. I’m reluctant to walk you through it because I want you to understand what you’re doing, its effect, and how to put it back together. The whole process is very easy if you follow the install steps. Also, the adjustments mentioned Joec500 are also good and are covered in those install steps.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try the OEM shift **** which I have. I like the shift action of the Numeric, but not the effort required to get it into reverse or 7th gear. I assume that's the spring stiffness and I'm having to overcome the self centering force of the spring. I'll look at the videos and determine if I want to DIY or bring to a shop.

Yes - the numeric has too much tension... As an example - I find it can be tricky when shifting 6th to 5th as it will want to center back and can easily find third. Never had that problem with OEM...
PS: The best shifter I have ever driven in a car was the ND Miata... You thought it and it found the gear. Snick, snick into the gears.

It feels more precise than my 991.2 7MT. I'll likely pick up the Numeric as well.

Seems like I'm an outlier, but I'm not in love with my numeric shifter. Rifle bolt action (with very mechanical sound) - check. Very difficult to get into reverse and 7th - check. Metal numeric shift **** too hot to touch after sitting in summer sun - check.
I drove a friend's OEM 7MT and liked it better. I'm in my 60s but hit the gym frequently, so no you need to get stronger comments please. I'm assuming PO had the stronger springs put in. What's involved to change them? PO kept the original shifter, but not the cables -grrrr. I assume numeric cable won't work with OEM shifter. I'm in a 2019 911T

@audiophile35 sorry - no longer have car / numeric set up.
@Holdens I'd love to try the Numeric. I have a 2016 Targa 4 GTS and I don't like the shifter ... too notch / sloppy. I'm in Nashville - would love to see and sample your Numeric if you are willing.
