I believe, and I could be wrong, that the maximum recommended weight limit has more to do with driving handling & vehicle stability than structural support. Just imagine how having that much wait so high up above the vehicle, and with such a higher center of gravity would affect turning and overall handling. I’m looking forward to using my racks though.

So this just happened. No, I did not apply excessive force. I hadn’t even reached the torque limit of 8Nm using the supplied tool. In discussions with Suncoast and I was told they will make it right. They can’t provide me a solid ETA for the new one. Stay tuned for updates.

Same thing happened to me and dealership replaced it without question and provided significant discount.

Oooof!
If they can’t give you an ETA, return and buy from local dealer, getPorscheparts.com, or any of the other dealers that are to happy to take your money.

Wonder what would happen if you installed rack, it did not crack immediately, but after several miles. Whatever you had on the rack gets destroyed because of the rack failure. Would Porsche make good on whatever you had on the rack that got destroyed? Some people carry very expensive bikes, or other things, on those racks.

I wish my situation was as simple. When I first called Suncoast they said sorry you'll have to take that to your local dealer to do a warranty exchange. That seemed strange but I was like ok. So I went to my local dealer and they were all smiling and ready to help me with the warranty exchange until the realized I bought it from Suncoast. They said sorry we don't take back parts from Suncoast. I asked if they would have it had been another local dealer and they said sure. So back I went calling Suncoast and at first they were dismissive but when I told them the dealer wouldn't accept the warranty exchange because I bought it from them, they decided to accommodate me. All I can say is that the process has begun but I won't be satisfied until I see the new one in my hand. I'll be shipping back the defective one next week so it's probably going to take a while seeing as they don't have any in stock and can't tell me when I'll receive it.

Happy to say that Suncoast made good on honoring the warranty & exchange for my roof rack. Sent me a brand spanking new one in about 2 weeks. Even better is that the new one includes some sort of carrying bag/case!

Default In Florida with ceramic bearings

It rains to much not to be able to fit your bike inside the car. At least this was how i personally justified the R purchase.

I have a RockyMounts wheel-on bike tray and the wind noise is starting to get to me. Has anyone found a good wind noise-reduction solution? Is there a "fairing" that works on these roof bars? Thanks in advance.

Weather strip folds into the attachment point cover. Snaps back in place when rails are removed. Not as elegant as metal flap in roof that folds up out of the way. One more way for manufacturer to lower cost of production. It works really well and I appreciate a lower price to buy. I keep the racks attached to the cargo box and use a pulley system on a track to store it and enable me to lower and raise without help.

Hi everyone, little late to the party but im looking for some advice.

I am just in the process of buying a 2015 991 turbo S. I Really need the transport system on this vehicle and the dealership has said this model does not have the system listed on the build spec.

I thought it was standard issue.

Could they be wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

All 991 hard tops have the mounting brackets built in.
