It helps to use the tool that comes with the roof transport system - the hooked end is very effective.

I don't have the tool. However, when I look at the configurator, I see $410 for basic roof transport system. When I look further at the different boxes available, bike rack, etc., it all says basic roof transport system required. Are you telling me, aside from the free smoking package, Porsche includes those brackets under the rubber for free? And without doubt, I have them on my 911 T?

Thank you. In no way am I meaning to be argumentative. I just can't imagine Porsche giving anything for free when they can charge for it.

Look at it this way. If they didn't include those free brackets, they couldn't sell you the $410 basic transport system, or any other associated racks. Hard to see how they could be retrofitted without taking the car apart to some extent. Even if it were only removing the headliner/interior trim, who's going to sign up for that?

Yes, all regular 911's (not sure about GT's) have the anchors already. The roof transport system is an accessory and all of the roof boxes etc are engineered for compatibility with the Porsche system. The weather stripping has a rigid anchor built in at each corner so if you're not using the tool you could easily tear the top portion of the weather stripping.

Appreciate the replies. I emailed with Suncoast. That tool cannot be ordered separately. I guess if and when I order the bars etc it will come with it

I have a 2019 T and as others have said, the anchors are built into the car. You pay $410 for the cross bars and the
tool. I am currently using a Rocky Mounts bike tray and it works just fine. I can also use our roof box on the cross bars.

Compared to other factory setups, I think this is easy to install and more secure.

Just go to the Yakima or Thule websites, tell the website you have a 911 with the factory cross bars and the website will show you all compatible rooftop accessories including baskets. Choose a compatible basket and you can download the install instructions with pictures.

I copied Arter - the roof rack came with clamps that would attach to the Porsche bars. You can see the clamps in my pic.
