Just finished reading @stout article on 000 Magazine for Carrera T. What a pleasurable read! Love everything about it. Now I wish I had got RAS. I would recommend anyone haven't get a chance to read it to get the 006 issue.

Same here. I had the good fortune of driving both versions of the T in both PDK and Manual variants during my car hunt. In all cases, the non-RAS cars, felt more raw (I like to see my driving skill develop). You then factor in the additional weight and the additional complexity in alignment (which by the way, best non-part addition mod ever!) from RAS, it became obvious (to me anyway) that non-RAS was the way to go.

Anyone else feel a little smug when the PCA top five option list included three that show up in most T’s? I.e. sport seats, LSD, and Sports Exhaust! (Yeah, no PTS or Power Kit).

Yeah, I think Porsche made a mistake by not opening the X51 kit to T owners. I understand the whole jumping the paradigm (base to GTS without S premium) but it looks like the T may be a “one-off” given the light weight package availability on the 992 range. Not to mention it keeps the Porsche allure alive on unique models and the potential if purchased/supported.
still would love to know the true reason they didn’t put in the 6 speed into the car and opted instead for the 7 speed.

I understand that technology evolves. BUT never once in the past when driving a Porsche have I said “gee it would be nice if the rear wheels steered”.

I drove both as well. To me the non-RAS felt normal. The RAS felt a little artificial. And it was heavier. And added more parts to fail etc. And complicated alignment.

for me, RAS was a deal breaker. i wouldn't buy a T without it. nobody is noticing the weight difference of 37 lbs. and to me what made the T the perfect car was the fact i could get the higher mechanical spec of "better" cars like a GTS and GT3: RAS/PASM/LSD all in a package that for me was the perfect amount of power for a daily driver. the "weight savings" which is BS anyways had no bearing on my decision. 47 lbs or whatever the "weight savings" is equates to the front boot being filled groceries. it's irrelevant.

Not sure I agree because I could say the same thing about CF seats along with 10 other amazing parts on the car. At the end of the day to each his/her own in the T army.
I am biased though; my first car was a Prelude with 4WS and am partial to the benefits.
