For anyone that's still hesitant about tinting the T due to LWG, I can say that it's safe to do so! I just finished the tint today and everything went well. I did speak to the person doing the tint and he had many years of experience in the past dealing with special glass, etc.. but he did mention he will be extra careful with the heat gun during application. Supposedly only the rear window will be needing it. This is for you @911-TOUR since I know you were waiting.

Huper Optik films. They are generally tiny bit thicker than other films. Fortunately our LWG dot matrix is not really there so essentially it's flat (you can feel it with your finger) and given there is not defroster line so there'll be no issue with the defroster line (it's completely clear). So the dot matrix you see at the edge of the glass is not really an issue. Only thing that may be an issue is driver & passenger door dot matrix, but they are not as thick as some other cars that could cause the film not to stick.

Again, if you guys could stick around watch the tinter do the application I would highly recommended. The point is to ensure the heat gun is being use minimally or avoid spot heating to create too much heat at one area. This is just being cautious.

Help. Where is the personalized license plate thread? (I think there is one in 991-land... but I also remember it not having license plate, tags or any such easy-to-find title. Ugh.)

After 3-4 months of waiting, my bank sent me a pile of paperwork and just said "you are on your own". Fine. Now I can get this done on my terms. Mark one point off for shopping for a car out of state.

Funny, I had the exact same experience when I bought my Macan GTS in Miami and had them process the plates and registration for Texas. After 3 months waiting I told them that either I get my money back (they charged $450 for processing...) or I would take them to court. I got a check via FedEx the next day. I went to the local DPS and got my plates in 15 minutes.

And it only costed $95.

Nice!

Congrats. Did you order it with personalized door sills, or aftermarket?

Congrats, tgavem By coincidence I'll pick up my T also on Thursday (though this side of the pond) and the car is also two weeks early :-) Though I almost don't dare to report that the lead time (from ordering to delivery at the PZ) was just five weeks...

congratulations to you too. That is fast but you are close to factory. I placed order in March and finish build was around May 8. On the vessel on May 11

Excellent! Seems that production process for the T is much more effcient than for the GT3/RS. While quite a number of T owners over here reported early deliveries, GT3/RS owners are complaining about significant delays (4 to 6 weeks). Anyway: enjoy the pick-up and the T-honeymoon!
